How to fix Self-Care

Self-Care is a perk that gives something great at a far greater cost. I suggest Self-Care heals at a normal pace if something of use is done, such as doing gens or healing another survivor. This will significantly reduce the amount of new survivors who spend the entire game using this perk.

That would still result in survivors spending too much time healing. If Self-Care had an incentive, SoloQ would greatly benefit.

Problem with 50% Self Care healing speed wasn't the healing speed, but the way some survivors used it. Which of course is kind of hard to fix, even with tutorials, considering that it would be impossible to include every perk in the tutorial.

However, the 50% healing speed is actually the same efficiency as one survivor healing another in 16 seconds, because 2*16 = 32. In fact, Self Care can even be seen as more efficient, because you can heal whether you want, and don't have to spend time running around to a team mate.

The only key downside is that if another survivor heals you, you are back in action after 16 seconds instead of 32 seconds, so misusing the perk can sometimes result in a survivor not doing anything in situations where they really are needed.

No need to do too much just revert the nerf to 50% again

Ayo how hard would it be to make selfcare heal you at half the speed or maybe even 75%, BUT you can't increase that speed with any perks or Items.

Some healing perks only work on someone else (like leader gives other's around you 25% speed to some actions including healing, or empathic's connection 10% healing speed IF you are healing someone else), surerly it wouldn't be that hard to implement.

This perk was a mistake. Remove it completely. Stop letting vpns bring it on my servers too. It needs to be dead.

Why buff it? Its still the most used survivor perk.

Not gonna lie, that's somewhat brilliant in its simplicity.

And thats is better with the perk nerfed how? We know its still used a lot, and i cant see how nerfing the healing speed adressed using it wrong in any way.

The value in Self Care lies in its flexibility. If you gate it behind some arbitrary requirement then it isn’t even the same perk anymore. What if you’ve been running the killer for your team all match? What if you get chased off a gen before you hit the magic number and what’s keeping you from trying again is that you have no buffer and the only gens are in relatively unsafe areas?

A new survivor is likely just overly cautious and gating their ability to heal will just make hiding more appealing - not objectives.

Besides, there are already too many perks that have annoying and arbitrary requirements. Give me a good old fashioned cool down any day.

IMO, remove it from the game. It brings such unique self-sufficiency that instead of causing users to ponder the cost-benefits of their actions, they just default to what is more comfortable: healing whenever injured.

I think it should be slowed down even more 25% would have been better

its the most used perk for survivors, its neither underrated nor forgotten, why are we trying to buff it?

The botany knowledge change didn't help for self-care. They need to have separate use so survivors stop combining them.

Like botany instead of giving more healing speed, now grants 50% to med-kit efficiency.

I would revert self-care to 50%, (but you need to do something to earn tokens and then when you are injured consume the token) or (you start the trial with 2 or 3 tokens at your disposal)

NO ,,healing urself even at 35% is still decent considering you don't need to find a person and make waste seconds healing you,,there are other healing perks as well..inner healing, circle

Frankly, just add back the boosted efficiency with medkits or something. It really didn't need the nerf.

Nerf it to 10% and it'll still be heavily used.

Prolem with nerfed Self Care was that it was nerfed. It should have lost the healing item efficiency but kept the 50% healing speed, right now it's literally a detriment to your team, and seeing it still being the most used perk is actually insanely worrying. Probably one of the reasons why solo queue feels rougher after the patch actually, considering every 5th survivor uses that perk.

It's beyond ridiculous at this point and the most perfect example you could ever come up with why perks can't just only be balanced around usage rate.

REvert back to 50% boom problem solved. The problem isn't that there's 1 guy self caring in a corner the problem is there's multiple of them. If we buff iit to 50% then those peopel will spend less time doing it, thus they'll get back on working on something faster.

With 10 seconds of base BT and increased movement speed speed you can get away from the killer assuming the rescuer didn't just rushed at you like a Bull.

It is ruined in its current form and encourages new players to learn bad play tactics that bring down their games. 50% is the max it should ever be. At higher than 50% it becomes superior to having a teammate heal you which it never should be. Teamwork should be encouraged, not punished.

Currently 16 seconds for teammate to heal you, but that's 16 seconds for 2 people (32 total) + time to get together + risk of being near teammate. Selfcare at 50% would be 32 seconds for one player and no risk of being near someone or time spent running over to someone. Not to mention the advantage of immediately splitting after an unhook. Self care is too strong at 50% with no conditions.
