Hook distribution is broken on Midwich and The Game.

Midwich used to be great for hooks, now you're lucky to have more than 5 hooks on the 1st floor and entire sections of the map can become deadzones for you after 1 kill. Feels like this happened right around when they released map escape/kill rates and saw that Midwich was the best for killer, and this is the cheapest/lowest effort way of nudging map balance either way.

Survivors know this is an issue and exploit it. If I see a map offering for The Game and 1 petrified oak, I already know I'm going against a bully squad.

It's getting to the point where I'm actually starting to get annoyed or anxious when I get Midwich as killer, and more confident/relaxed when I get it as survivor. Getting The Game as killer is just painful no matter what.

I believe hook distribution is an awful way to balance maps, and it should be relatively constant. I'm really hoping we can get a response as to whether or not this is an issue that could be adjusted, or an intentional balance decision that's here to stay.

What do you think?

Midwich Elementary School never had great hook spawns (at least in my opinion) and still doesn't, even with the different Oak Offerings. Gideon Meat Plant on the other side had more forgiving hook spawns, since you can just drop down from almost everywhere (but sometimes you still have deadzones). Overall, hooks should spawn a bit more fixed, perhaps multi-layered indoor-maps should get more hooks in general, so that normal deadzones don't exists (but there shouldn't be too many, otherwise sabotaging isn't worth it). Also Scourge Hook placement should be improved, not allowing more than 2 Scourge Hooks to spawn next to each other would be a great change and benefits both sides (Now sabotaging Scourge Hooks is more worth it because sometimes all 4 Scourge Hooks spawn in the same area).

Midwitch always had bad hook spawns and nothing changed here. But the map was and still is heavily killer sided so lack of hooks is good.

The game on the other hand... I play saboteur and the only possibility to get successful sabo play in this map are scourge hooks + perfect play (and killers ignoring closest hooks), or endgame some survivor falling down in gate area (and even this is not guaranteed).

In all the other cases killers never have problem with the map in my experience (but I see tendency of many killers to stay on same floor even when it makes very little sense - it might be your problem too). It's much easier to get good sabo play on eerie, any red forest or any farm map (all having regular hook spawns) then on the game

I'm pretty sure cold wind got the reverse treatment of midwich. It's impossible to walk two feet without another hook being there. Even against sabo squads there is always another close by.

Not in my experience. Coldwind is not remarkable in any way considering hooks with one exception. It was on coldwind farm that had a bug with 2 hooks being like 5m apart from each other
