Totem Concept Idea: Up the Ante (not the perk)
I was just thinking that it would be interesting to use a BP offering after you know it will yield at least some points. Then it occurred to me that since totems can now be used as boon, many survivors hesitate to cleanse them.
So here's the idea:
Cleansing a DULL totem "ups the ante" for you. If you escape, it's worth a cumulative +20% (so +100% for all 5 totems if there are no hexes or boons), if you don't escape, it's just wasted time. Maybe make dull totems take as long as hex totems and trigger killer instinct. No 1000 BP either way, and as soon as the endgame collapse starts, bets are closed (could still give the usual 1000 BP at the current cleansing speed).
What does it mean?
You are effectively telling the game, "look, I am confident, I am even wasting time and still think I can win". Obviously survivors will do this at the start of the match when there is still not much pressure, or later, when they are in the lead. Either way, it will give the killer some more time.
This can lead to more risky gameplay, but as it's totally optional, you can just ignore it and play effectively. Or you are tempted enough by those juicy +20% to risk your escape? Your call!
