BHVR please can we get the old single piece rift cosmetics in the store?
I have already posted about this before so I know that community interest is there. Can we, pretty please BHVR, get the single piece cosmetics from the old rifts in the store?
I understand the need for exclusivity on certain items/cosmetics like legacy, crowns, charms, etc. but all of these are just recolors of cosmetics in the game already and they look super cool. I don't see the harm in bringing these back if you are bringing back the set recolors. I know tons of people would buy them and it wouldn't take a ton of effort on you guys part just to list them in the store.
Auric cells or Iri shards, I don't care, I just wanna have them. (I really want Splashin' the Pot Ace)
I have attached some examples for anyone confused. Thank you for reading/upvoting/commenting if you have the time!

Agree, it would really be great.

Yeah, it just seems like a net postive for everyone, you know?

No, there must be at least some kind of encouragement for those who have been playing for a long time.

There are plenty of exclusive items/charms/event cosmetics for those players. There is no harm in letting new players buy something as basic as a purple recolor of an existing shirt. Wanting to lock people out of customizing their character based on play time is bizarre.

That was kind of thrown out the window when the devs granted previously exclusive items for everyone. Like golden feng or the Meg mask which used to be an exclusive to players who played the Alpha version of Deathgarden.
It was really disappointing to me to come back to the game after a near 2-year break to see that my exclusive items were no longer exclusive but given to all players for free.

I'd love for the level 70 rift charms to be made purchasable, especially the blood moon charm

What is the harm in letting new players BUY and equipt cosmetics that you not only got for free, but had exclusively for years? It just seems like a strange mentality to me, especially since owning them comes down to playing at the right time more than anything.
You don't play DBD to collect exlusive cosmetics, you play it to have fun as survivor/killer.

The Devs said multiple times that there won't be any cosmetics (minus charms maybe) that are completely exclusive anymore (because these or the accounts were sold for hundreds of dollars). The only exclusive stuff that still exist are limited cosmetics, tournament rewards and Legacy. Everything else is time exclusive.

I wouldn't mind letting people buy charms if that's their thing!

And honestly, I think that is a good mentality to have, everything in this game is visual, some of these cosmetics are such minor alterations that I'm not sure why anyone would have a problem with other people at least being able to buy them later. Especially since most of them were free rewards.

I mean accounts with many exclusive charms, limited cosmetics, legacy and tournament rewards can still be sold for hundreds of dollars. And what about the Stranger things chapter, it's exclusive now as well as all store cosmetics for these characters. The logic is flawed, and respectfully punished old players who had these exclusive items that are no longer exclusive.
I can understand the Rift items coming back in the Store, but I think that items that were exclusive prior to the store coming out or the Rift should have stayed exclusive like Legacy.
The items I specifically mentioned were released before the Store, before the Tomes, before the Rift.
The Meg mask and Trapper mask were given to only players who played the Alpha of Deathgarden. You had to apply for the alpha and had to be accepted to participate. Same with the Beta and many like me, also paid for the game when it released. So I do strongly feel specifically that those items should have stayed exclusive instead of being given for free and it does feel unfair that items like charms can remain exclusive but the masks can't

I had applied for the Alpha of Deathgarden, I got accepted, I played that game, I provided feedback. I also participated in the Beta and paid the game when it came out. Because of this I got exclusive items and then they were given out for free.
So imagine you get a reward for something you've done and then that same reward goes to everyone, it doesn't feel nice. And by that logic, why don't all players have Legacy?
In my opinion, some items should stay exclusive like some charms are

You were still able to get the Deathgarden masks on steam by adding the alpha to your library, they were given for free because the only players being locked out of them were people not playing on Steam. Console players and other PC platform players were never even given a chance to obtain them.
And in what way are old players "punished" they were given a free costmetic for just playing the game during a specific time frame. I would understand people being upset if they gave away something like legacy for free, as this was actually a difficult grind to unlock, but these are not even comparable.

The Alpha was long gone before the dbd was available on other platforms other than Steam. This was in 2018.
And it was a closed Alpha. I still have the emails from that time

You didn't do anything difficult and were given a free cosmetic, and like I said before, you could still get those cosmetics on Steam up until they gave them out for free. Legacy was for players who had been playing from the beginning that had put hours into leveling the old system. But I am not asking for legacy, I am asking for the opportunity for new players to BUY old FREE cosmetics. They are all recolors and weren't hard to unlock, no grinding like legacy, you just had to be playing during the time they were availible.
I don't understand the mentality of not wanting players to have access to a different colored shirt just because they didn't know about the game on a specific date and time.

I had friends that never played Deathgarden who had the masks because they added the game to their Steam library, this was still possible to do up until they gave them to everyone, they were not really exclusive at any point to any Steam user, just exclusive to everyone else.
Don't you think it is a little silly to not let people use a white mask on Meg bexause they aren't on the right platform?

As I said, I don't mind Rift items being available, but some items should be exclusive. This has been contradicted and flawed logic has been applied.
For the items I referred to, the players that did nothing got what was exclusive items for free. I applied for a closed Alpha of a game, I played it and provided feedback, I got in the beta, I played and provided feedback, I paid with money for the game when it came out, and then less than a year later the game for discontinued and I had these 2 items to show that I participated in something, supported Behavior, spent both my time and money on them and then they put out the items for everyone.

the people saying that only they deserve some random shirt in a video game because they happened to play the game during the time it was available are weird, what sort of incentive to play dead by daylight is "oh yeah, i own this shirt i dont use for a character i dont play that nobody else is allowed to have"
especially people who openly admit to not playing the game for long periods of time, like, getting upset over people getting customization options literal years later for a game that you could spend entire years of your life not thinking about is not the hill to die on

I'm not really sure what we are even arguing about then.
And yes, I understand that you did all of that for Deathgarden, but those masks were given away just for having a version of the game in your Steam Library, they were given out for free because players were still getting them by adding the game to their library, even years after Deathgarden had already died. The only people that had no possible way of getting them were non-Steam players.
None of the additional stuff you did for Deathgarden had any impact on those masks.

It is honestly just a bizarre way to look at the game yeah.

What you're talking about was long after.
When I played the Alpha, it could only be added to steam with a special key received via email to the player that got accepted to participate

So you are upset about the availibility post the Death of Deathgarden in general? As in including the way to get it later?
I mean at least you are consistent but I still don't understand the harm in letting people have them, agree to disagree I guess. Thanks for taking the time to comment and have a civil discussion with me though. Not sarcastic, like genuinely.

This is just my point of view. To me, it's a slap in the face because I know that I dedicated time and money and I felt like this was my reward for it. I took a huge break from the game, so I missed a whole bunch of things, including updates of giving exclusive items and even stopping Stranger things. I would've purchased some skins before they got removed permanently from the Store.
The game has a weird "we don't want exclusive items, but there are exclusive items" type of situation. Some Rift items are exclusive, which contradicts the non-exclusivity logic. Some skins are exclusive, which also contradicts the logic. And it just so happened that my exclusive items got unexclusivifed which was not a word up until now, but i made it one! And i was definitely mad when I was told that the masks are in everyone's inventory.
In general, it's illogical and realistically, the items you mentioned probably won't show up in the store for a few months

I think it is reasonable for crowns and legacy to be exclusive, or even charms, but basic clothing stuff seems silly to me personally. The most reaction a legacy has ever gotten from me is "oh neat".
And I'm not sure, full sets have come back but none of the singular cosmetics ever have, and it has been 2 years or so since they last had one on a rift. I'm not asking for BHVR to give them up for free I just wanna grab some that I missed for Auric Cells or Iri Shards. The Ace one is the only cosmetic for him that I don't have and it happens to be one of my favorites because it is purple.

I mean i missed a few rifts and I will never get the charms just because I didnt play back when they were available. Its the same logic with the items I had exclusively. It's illogical to me.

Well, you see, you yourself said that there are exceptions)
0 -
There are very few exceptions and most of them are charms, the only actual exclusives are the tournament prize ones (most), content creator ones (again most), and legacy. These weren't anything like that, and if they are gonna release full sets why not release these.
1 -
I mean there isn't reallt a precedent set for charms and nobody is going buy an account over something like that. And again, with the exception of the masks, you really didnt have to do anything for the exclusives made free so far.
Putting Legacy on the same scale as free single piece rift items from like a year ago is weird, they arent comparable at all. You didnt have to grind for these, the rift was never that grindy even before they changed it. And I'm not even suggeating we get them for free, just that people have the chance to buy them. I wouldn't care if they gave everything to everyone to be honest, but there aren't as many inconsistencies as you are saying really. And the few that there are have either been specifically talked about or make sense at face value.
0 -
Yes but these exceptions are understandable. Legacy was a hell of a grind back when the game came out, tournament rewards are what they are (there is only ONE golden panda TV shirt), creator cosmetics were limited in the first place and afaik the rights to give the codes away belong to said creators and limited cosmetics (like twitch shirts, dev cosmetics or the fog whisperer charm) are also understandable why they are exclusive.
The outfits that were given for free were cosmetics which you could only get in certain countries during a convention or during an ingame event. Back in the day there was a bug where people lost these event cosmetics (BBQ and lunar new year event 2018) and because they couldn'T really fix it, they gave these for free.
1 -
Not to mention, again, Legacy, Charms, and Tournament Prizes have all been directly acknowledged by BHVR at some point saying that they would remain exclusive. These are the only exclusives they haven't directly mentioned and since the full sets are coming it would make sense for BHVR to add these too.

That is true. I think they forgot they exist tbh.

It sure feels that way, might be the case, they haven't done single cosmetics outside of events in ages. Though they would have had to touch them up for the model reworks so I'm not sure.
