NOED not revealing aura

On ps4, i was in end game and i saw a totem that was previously dull, i thought it was NOED, but to confirm i started to check if i could see the aura of the totem but for as much as i tried, the totem never showed me an aura. After the game ended, i checked and the killer did in fact have NOED

The description of the NOED says that the corruption must first be revealed to all survivors, after which the aura of the totem will be visible. This is only possible if the survivor hits with a basic attack.
