Feedback on Halloween event
This year's Halloween event is better than last years but I do think there is room for improvement.
I love that all gens/hooks being event gens/hooks. It was frustrating during past events only having 1 gen or 1 hook unless you brought an offering. As survivor the killer could just hang out by the event gen preventing survivors from getting event BP or survivors could run to other side of map to prevent killer from using event hook. Please for all events always make all the gens/hooks event hooks.
The pumpkins are a good time and this year seems like the performance issues on console from smashed pumpkins was fixed making them more enjoyable for this ps4 player. Only change I would request is not have them in corners where others can body block you - I get they're set up to spawn where totems spawn but it puts a sour mood to the event when you go to get event BP only to be bodyblocked in by someone and unable to leave. While I know can report at the same time it's just frustrating having to sit through match to report and then send down ticket as proof. Maybe set them to always be out in the open to avoid those situations.
The event objective of collecting the void energy was good side objective. It got players to work on gens and slowed down the gens a bit since people would get off to deposit the void energy. I do not the like steal mechanic at all, it is totally unnecessary addition to the event. It's attached to stuns/downs which already frustrate players, losing void energy on top of that is just adding insult to injury. It also discourages survivors from helping others until they deposit their void energy to avoid losing it. So many times while on hook I was watching teammates slowly make their way around the map to avoid the killer to deposit their void energy before they'd save me - which could either put me into second state or if second hook they'd get to me too late. Please don't have stealing mechanics in future events, not only does it feel bad but it also encourages not great gameplay.
Event rewards - thank you for giving the rewards to the survivors even if they die mid-match. It's super frustrating in other events having to make it to end game or dying just before exiting when you've completed whatever you needed to do to earn the event reward aside from living long enough. Please keep this as a feature that as long as survivor complete what is needed they get the reward. If there could please be something in game to track what rewards you've unlocked - maybe tab in the Halloween tome - that'd be good to have instead of having to manually go through and check each character.
Gens event BP - PLEASE have the event BP from finishing a gen go to all survivors that are still in the match. It is so frustrating getting chased off a 99% gen or getting hit with eruption on almost finished gen only for someone else to run over and finish it which causes you to get 0 event BP. Because you can miss out on event BP if you're not on the gen when it finishes many times survivors will just stay on the gen until they finish it instead of rescuing a teammate that's on a hook. Mix that with the fact they also don't want to run into the killer before they deposit void energy you have alot more survivors being left on hook while their teammates are securing event BP. It's an event, it should be happy fun BP time, just let all the survivors in the match get event BP from gens finishing.
Halloween tome - I like that we have the tome to work through for cosmetics and extra rift fragments/BP. The community challenges shouldn't be blocked by players solo event challenges. It was better during the Anniversary when the community challenges were separated up top. I'd really like it if the community challenges were their own separate nodes that aren't blocked by either other community challenges or solo challenges, that way players are not slowed down on completing community challenges due to either needing to complete their own solo challenges or waiting on others in the community to complete the challenge before being able to move onto the next challenge.
Event items/offerings/addons on bloodwebs - this could definitely be improved. Since the new prestige system brings you back to level 1 you barely see any event stuff on your blood webs, maybe 1 or 2 nodes but alot of the first levels had nothing at all. Please make it so bloodwebs are filled with event stuff, especially on survivor side where there's 5 different event things. At the very least every blood web from 1-50 should have 1 event offering, one event item, and one event add on. I went through 50 levels on a survivor and only got 24 offerings. It's not very encouraging when you have a limited amount of offerings especially since you only get the extra BP from finishing the gens - which as I mentioned before would be better if you got the event BP for finished gens as long as you're in the match instead of on a gen.
Overall the things for the event were good, it could just use some improvements to make it better.
