Returning to DBD is hellish without hours of research

Options

Title says it all.

The game makes it damn near impossible to understand changes after years. More pay-to-break-meta killers but we can't find out how they really work without going and watching an hour or two of youtube videos, more perks, changes to how perks work, the beginner-friendly toggle doesn't cut it.

You've ended up in the position Rainbow Six Siege is in where returning is a genuinely painful experience because it's just a spam of content and changes and no idea of what's happened or what's new to a returning player.

What does pay to break meta even mean? Are you implying pay to win? That term already exists. Suggest using it for clarity.

Also you're wrong. Wesker is what? High B, low A tier? Sadako is garbage outside condemned cheese.

Most killer mechanics are permutations of stuff already in the game. If you've played the game you just apply that stuff to the new killers. It's really not difficult to figure out what they do from context clues in the game.

Nurse and Spirit still spank mad ass and anything outside a swf is an exercise in patience.

    tl;dr nothing changed

So what the game is evolving and changing and getting new stuff. What did you do when you first started? Did you researched for hours or did you just played the game and learnt all the stuff?

Just play it and learn it the natural way or if you don't want that cause you want to be prepared for everything sit down and learn. Do you want the game to stop and never change or getting new stuff

I can understand the sentiment, there are always going to be a lot of changes over time. This is a Live game and updates can happen regularly as well as us introducing new content. We do have a new player post on this forum which might help provide some information and clarification on some things for you.

No offense, but this sounds like some big time entitlement. You're upset that a game is evolving, getting balanced, getting more content, simply because you didn't experience it first hand as it released and instead experienced it in a single large wave after breaks in gameplay? The alternative would be for the game to remain stale with no new content added and no rebalancing patches. Either way, despite all the new stuff, Nurse still dominates the meta, and most of the balance is tip-toed around her. Nothing's changed.

I don't understand the logic here. Things change for balance reasons and QoL adjustments, otherwise the core aspects of the game have remained the same (kill survivors, do gens, drop pallets, etc.). If I haven't touched a game in a long time that hadn't halted in development, I would expect there to be new things to explore and seek them out whether its by just playing the game or doing some research on anything big/new. Patch notes always detail any minor and major changes, and are always available for the public to view.
