Generator speed could auto adjust between swf and solo players

Hi guys, for some time now I've been thinking about a system that could let the fairest generator repairs for solo and SWF players, this idea is just a draft, but you can already have a base here


When we play in SWF, everything seems to be faster and more dynamic because of the communication, chatting with friends helps reduce the tedium of repairing generators that killers are regressing all the time, on the other hand, there are games that when the killer faces an organized SWF looks like the generators got ready at start what makes the killer experience demotivating

my idea would work like this: the more people play with friends, the longer it takes to fix generators it would be, however, if the players are solo, this time is faster, I made a table as an example:


if all players are playing alone generator repair time is 80 seconds

if there are 2 players playing together, the generator repair time is 85 seconds

if there are 3 players playing together, the generator repair time is 90 seconds

if all 4 players playing together, the generator repair time is 95 seconds (this goes for two doubles too)


my idea would be to maintain a balance between people who play alone and with friends, too could have a notification in the lobby that shows who is playing with friends to others survivors (something that many people already ask for)

It's worth remembering that this is just a basic idea, if anyone has any additional ideas on this subject, just comment, it's also worth remembering that I'm not trying to favor or harm neither side, the idea is to try to make the game more enjoyable for everyone

    I don't think this would be the fairest, since not all swfs are significantly better than solos (I'd even say most aren't, and when they are, then mmr is already taking care of boosting them towards better killers). I know for one that my duo rarely sees the gates being open. If we have the bad luck of being in a lobby with another duo, with whom we couldn't communicate, the gens would be even longer to fix than right now and that's not very fair.

    It would also prompt a lot of lobby dodging, since why would a solo want to queue with a 3-man if they can have shorter gen times in another lobby with a duo or no swf ? Which is not ideal.

    I do commend you for making the gen times start lower than current time for all-solo lobbies.

    i mean the 90 seconds are there for a reason, this would only be a buff again to swf. Unlike you mean no matter how many people work on the same gen, they take either equally long. Which would then make people just spread gens. It would shift but i dont think it would change that much.

    I think they mean, detect who is queueing together in the lobby, and if there is a 3-man swf in the lobby, gens will be 90s for everyone, if there are only solos, gens are going to be 80s for everyone during the game.

    It wouldn't be a Prove Thyself situation but an adaptation of base kit gen time depending on who queued together.

    but that would be still 10 seconds less for soloQ. The gens got basekit stretched because the killer side needed it, no matter swf or not.

    Yes, we could also match the number of blinks nurse has:

    3-4 man swf: 2 blinks

    2 man swf : 1 blink

    Solos: 0 blink

    That would be fair

    But should the time be higher against specific killers? For example stealth killer suffer more from communication.
