Hillbilly re-rework concept
Ok buckle up because this is gonna be a long one boys and girls
Power changes:
Overheat cooldown reduced from 15 seconds to 8
Using the chainsaw does not add to overheat, however downing a survivor causes the chainsaw to overheat for 8 seconds.
Reduced environmental collision of chainsaw by 30% (heavy clutch addon reworked).
Increased movement speed while in a chainsaw sprint by 15%.
While within 8 meters of a hooked survivor, the chainsaw will rapidly overheat. Sprinting into this 8 meters will instantly overheat your chainsaw, causing you to stop your sprint and enter the cooldown animation. This prevents the "camping from a distance" issue.
Survivor hit collision and environmental collision is now the same.
Increased time for extra sensitivity at the start of the chainsaw sprint from .75 seconds to 1 second; this will allow skilled Hillbillies to hit tighter curves and have the ability to re-adjust a little more mid sprint.
Hillbilly's "roar" now activates upon a successful chainsaw hit, rather than at the start of the sprint.
Addon changes:
(Ultra rare) Iridescent brick: Begin the chainsaw sprint undetectable for 12 seconds
(Ultra rare) Tuned carburetor: Increases chainsaw charge speed by 18%, decreases chainsaw sprint movement speed by 15%
(Very rare) Apex muffler: Chainsaw is now (relatively) silent at all times
- (Very rare) Lopro chains: Allows you to continue the Chainsaw Sprint after breaking a pallet or breakable wall with the chainsaw. Survivors hit with the same sprint that broke the pallet are injured for 1 health state and are afflicted with mangled, hemorrhage, and the deep wound status effect
- (Very rare) Fine tuned piston (switched with pighouse gloves): After downing a survivor with the chainsaw you don't suffer from overheat (does not apply to hook camping scenarios)
- (Very rare) Spiked boots: Unchanged
- (Rare) Thompson's mix (replaces black grease): Chainsaw cooldown reduced by 15%, increases overheat cooldown by 4 seconds.
- (Rare) Doom engravings: Increases chainsaw movement speed by 12% increases charge time by 10%
- (Rare) Pighouse gloves (replaces leafy mash): using your chainsaw causes it to overheat (same as standing near hook just at all times). Increases the time you are overheated to 35 seconds. When overheated, action speed is increased by 25% and pallet stun duration is reduced by 50%
- (Rare) Lowkickback chains: For the first 1 second of a chainsaw sprint your collision zone is reduced by 100%
- (Rare) Mothers helpers: Movement speed while revving the chainsaw is increased by 5% - 97% movement speed
- (Uncommon) Sharpened chain (replaces big belt buckle) You can now chainsaw generators to remove 8% progress (if it is not already regressing) as well as reduced cooldown by 10% when breaking pallets and walls
- (Uncommon) Dad's boots: Unchanged
- (Uncommon) Death engravings: Increases chainsaw movement speed by 8% increases charge time by 6%
- (Uncommon) Off-brand motor oil: You can now overheat while using the chainsaw outside of hook scenarios (old overheat basically) however, your chainsaw no longer has directional audio making it harder to tell where its coming from.
- (Uncommon) Punctured Muffler: Reduces duration of overheat by 4 seconds
- (Common) Heavy clutch: Movement speed while chainsaw sprinting is reduced to 4.4 ms. Turning is increased by 300%
- (Common) Junkyard air filter: Reduces noise made by the chainsaw by 50%
- (Common) Speed limiter: unchanged except you no longer overheat at all.
- (Common) Steel toe boots: Decreases recovery time when hitting an object by 30%
These changes are meant to make Hillbilly more accessible to players trying to learn how to play him while rewarding good Hillbillies. While buffing his chainsaw it makes sense to reduce his overall snowball potential since he can easily be everywhere at once. The 8 second overheat (affected by addons) after a chainsaw down fixes this issue as well as to prevent the game ending in less than 2 minutes.
I really hope some of the devs give this a look as the game has evolved quite a bit and Billy is in need of a little love, thanks for taking the time to read this if you did.
