Fogwise is way too OP
Just watching a stream (CoconutRTS) and he can litterly see the killers at all times when doing gens...
(He paired it with Stakeout, just in case he should not get a great skill check)
EDIT 2 :
I am not sure how or why you guys keep quoting my original post? i was corrected, and i edited it.

Fearmonger

My build these past few weeks was Hyperfocus, Stake Out, [perk of choice] and Windows.
Fogwise fits perfectly and is the sole reason I bought this DLC! It's amazing!

You do know that Stealth killers grant Undetectable..which means that their aura cant be read?
33 -
So the killer HAVE to run a specific perk to balance the game? im happy im done being killers if this is what people think.
6 -
I did not know, but its still very unbalanced with no cooldown on fogwise
1 -
Lol
23 -
I might copy this, but i still think its very unbalanced.

Alert > Fogwise
16 -
It's a fun perk and decent but requires being on a generator, getting a skill check, and hitting the great skill check to get value from a perk that tells you the same information that playing with friends would give you and it can't give you information during chase which is when aura reading is most useful.
A perk that helps even out solo queue and SWF seems healthy to me? It doesn't really seem overpowered either. If you're spending 3/4 of your build to get value out of the perk (Hyperfocus/Stake Out) that seems fine?
20 -
You have a free killer perk that completely nullifies Fogwise without you doing anything aside using a perk slot.
You also have killers with undetectable status like wraith that their aura cant be read.
Good perk, yes. Too Op, no.
29 -
lol no way
1 -
What 'no way' is is that you complain about a mediocre perk 🤣
4 -
Fogwise with Alert even better lol.
1 -
True, if you want to invalidate 75% of the killers..
Most if not all killers are already forced to run with gen slowdown perks to counter gen rusing, and now they need to run with Fearmonger too
So the killer forced to run with a build like this[ Fearmonger, Corrupt, Jolt, <free choice of perk> ] killer sure sound like fun with a lot of free choices dont you think?
2 -
It is pretty strong. Stealth killers aren't affected as much, but setup killers like Trapper are really hurt by it. I'm a little surprised it doesn't have any further limitation other than needing to be on a generator.
Fearmonger does shut it down nicely though.

until you face stealth killers or use blind perks/addons then gg wasted perk slots
1 -
Well whicherver you use if you get a stealth killer it'll still go to waste. That's how it is with most perks this game can be countered by killer power or simply a killer perk. Only a few are universal that's why they are meta, most are situational. Even Dead hard is countered by killers like Legion or Deathslinger.
0 -
So OP that it doesn’t work with a stealth killer and Fearmonger. Yeah. OP.
19 -
Please read the thread before commenting, ty
Also Fearmonger are a general perk, so not all killers have it
0 -
been saying it all the time fogwise is problematic. And i alredy see people posting perk suggestions again. Great.
So in order to stand a chance a killer has to:
-run at least 2 gen regression perks
-run fearmonger if fogwise becomes meta
-run at least 1 info perk.
bye bye that 1 slot i used for fun perks.
1 -
I mean, I do fine with no gen regressions, and I don't like those either cause they handicap you way to much
1 -
...fearmonger is a general perk
15 -
Yup, thats kinda my point, but sadly none of my fellow survivors have any emotion towards the "other side" they act like they just want free and easy wins.
Im glad that i stopped playing killer, there is no fun to be had there, only stress and fustration.
1 -
That is what im saying

The killer isn't forced to run anything, if you're a stealth killer it doesn't affect you and if someone is getting use out of it they're on a gen and not in chase like old object looping killers with wallhacks, so what that you can see where the killer is, 90% of the time they'll be on someone else during that time and even if you were on voice comms that person could just tell you they're being chased and at what tile, this perk is literally for solo q players and swf who are coordinated won't get any value from it because they're already calling it out, there's not a reason to even complain about this perk and somehow people still find a way
2 -
Well that's not what you said, you said that it is a general perk, so NOT all killers have it
So sorry, guess I just misunderstood
1 -
Coconut just showed everyone how OP it was, he could see the killer the 90% of time while doing gens, he simply walked away when the killer got too close, i guess if he had Alert as other suggest he would have 100%
1 -
Dude a general Perk mean all killers have it ...you just have to find it in your bloodweb first, but you don't need to prestige anyone to unlock it for others. Meaning it's not behind a a paywall, it's free.
6 -
well i dont gonna act like hardcore killer mains would care either for the other side XD but its just.. balancing team doesnt really seem to play the game tbh.
1 -
Alert provides better information (the killers location and that something got broken at that location) and doesn't require that you be on a generator. Less than 3% of players run Alert and I can't recall the last time I've seen someone running Alert in one of my games.
Fogwise is just a crap perk and easily countered by stealth and Fearmonger.
I don't know how so many are hailing Fogwise like it's the second coming of JFC when Bond is such a better aura perk. Bond kicks it down the stairs and takes it's lunch money, it's that much better.
Once the hype dies down no one (less than 3% of the player base) is going to run Fogwise.
12 -
" just have to find it in your bloodweb first" Thats the magic key sentence.
When i played killer, i played like 24 or so, do you have any idea how many blood points you have to spend to get it on every killer?
I was suprised how easy it was to unlock everyting on survivors compared to killers, when i went survivor.
As survivor i just run through the bloodweb 3 times and i have all the new perks after unlocking them, as i do only have 2 main survivors i need to lvl up.. if you as killer play all 30, thats 30x3 - 90 bloodwebs you need to do (and you are not guaranteed to get fearmonger).
2 -
I've already ran the build I've seen what it does, it's really not that strong if you think about it, you only see the killer if they aren't undetectable by their power or a perk, if the killer is close enough to make you think they're heading to you you'll hear them coming with the terror radius and it will be obvious.
This perk is literally for solo players because a swf with voice comms already have that type of information and in fact they trump fogwise because even if they're undetectable I can tell you who the killer is and where they're chasing me when fogwise can't tell you that, swf gets no value out of this perk
9 -
"you only see the killer if they aren't undetectable by their power or a perk" - most killers are not.
So i think "only" is very wrong in that sentance.
0 -
The WiseFog build you should use is Fogwise - hyperfocus - Fastrack - Steakout its works great against all killers that dont have a undetectable status so the following killers are not good against it: Ghostface, pig, Dredge(during Nightfall), Scratch Mirror Myers. I dont think theres any others but i could be wrong it also wont work if they have Insidious so bubbas are ok lol.
0 -
Not really because the only way it would have value in a real swf setting is if it showed a undetectable killer otherwise I already have the information it provides and I could be running something that benefits me and my team more in the trial than a perk that tells me something that someone else is already calling out, so basically you think fogwise is op when it tells you something you already know in any swf group, why would you guys want to ######### on a solo player perk and get it nerfed? I guess that's my real question in all this
0 -
I would be fine if the blocked the perk completly for SWFs
1 -
Lmao I would be fine too because my teammates are already giving the information that it provides me, I'm telling you once this hype wears off from the new chapter you'll realize how weak this perk is, solo players are the only ones truly gaining a benefit here.
12 -
It’s fine. Stealth killers can still do their thing because of the undetectable status effect and against non stealth killers it’s just some basic info.
1 -
Exact reason why I have this in my base build. Always doing solo. I'd like to know whether I can be useful without risking my bum getting torn.
0 -
Oh man just wait until you find out about swf
14 -
Jokes on him, I'm running Rancor.
3 -
Yes, if every survivor that has the perk would continuously get a skill-check AND hit a great skill-check every time, which the average player doesn't or not as much as a streamer that plays this game for hours on end for a living :)
And so what if they see the killer, you can still catch them. As killer you have SO MANY aura-reading perks as well. There are many ways to counter this if it bothers you as much.
2 -
So funny, whenever Survivors complained about NOED, they were told to run Small Game. Because it is apparently alright if Survivors run meh-Perks, but if the Killer should run anything but Slowdown, this is a big Nono.
Really, run Fearmonger if you have a problem with Fogwise. Fearmonger on its own is also not bad, since it gives 5 seconds of Exhaustion, which can help sometimes.
16 -
wait until everyone hears about Kindred
8 -
It's strong but not OP.
0 -
They did hear about it, and Fearmonger destroys that as well.
Unless you're referring to the Open-Handed+Kindred combo that basically lets you reveal the Killer halfway across the map, but nobody runs that and I don't think anyone ever will (sadly).
1 -
Fearmonger counters it hard so no it's not op
0 -
Dude, you are totally on the panic train, slow down :)
It is information, yes, but survivors have had other info perks basically since the inception of the game.
Spine Chill has warned survivors that the killer approaches for 6 years now. It's a strong perk, but not op, so a perk would have a whole different power level to singlehandedly "invalidate 75% of the killer roster".
Survivors can happily play Fogwise to see me coming for them before they hit the ground.
5 -
So thats a solution right? :)
0 -
Didnt they just nerf spine chill because it was too strong? 1 step forward and 2 back??
