Killer balancing feels left behind
Howdy,
I have been playing DBD for 2.5 years. I never usually comment here because it's the same sort of thing and abuse with this community and I have a general sentiment that the devs and support staff do not take into account the views of players unless streamers abuse exploits on stream. However, this game has tuned itself in ways that have made even me feel like I'm not having fun on the game.
I consider myself a killer main. With 4k+ kills I usually prefer the role. Recently I have been playing and have not been able to compete prior to 3 gens done without 3+ gen slowdown perks, while even then chase is severely not fun because even an injure is not a clear route to a down. Dead hard is stronger than ever giving the player massive distance without using physical map resources. Furthermore, standing around a hook is not fun. Yes, I do want to do anything to win. But I feel as though standing stationary or pacing back and forth is not too intellectually challenging in a game that prides itself on "mind games".
I do find games to be not just more lopsided, but extremely lopsided depending on the time of day. Either an outright 4k or borderline unwinnable. A major factor being the killer used. 1 hit down killers seem to be highly more competitive across the board for me currently. This feels very defeating. Feeling like perks and killer choice decides outcomes. Maybe I've regressed at the game? Not sure, but the game is losing appeal on this end.
To wrap up, yes killer is losing its appeal but survivor is too with the new feel for killer being the need for camping to ensure a kill + hoping for inefficient/overly altruistic survivors. This doesn't feel good on either side. From a player with 2k+ escapes and 4k+ kills the game is starting to feel less and less fun due to balancing issues.
