Snowmen / Winter Event making game crash upon loading into game

This happened twice at the beginning of the month, where the game crashed right before it should've finished loading into the game with the following error
Fatal error: [File:Unknown] [Line: 3159] Could not find SuperStruct SnowmanAnimInstance to create AB_Snowman_C
I was able to go back to playing the game after si
mply restarting the game. Now it happens with every game I load into.
I'm playing on a win10 laptop using steam.
Verifying file integrity and reinstalling the game did not solve the issue
