Hyperfocus kicks me off gens

When I repair a gen and I successfully make great skill check while having hyperfocus equipped, my survivor releases the gen and ceases to repair it. This happens randomly also when not equipping hyperfocus, but hyperfocus turbo charges this issue. I'd say it happens 10% of the time without the perk and 50% of the time with the perk equipped.
It also happens for regular skill checks though more infrequently. Maybe 5% of the time without hyperfocus and 20% of the time with hyperfocus.
