Since BHVR announced they will be looking at perks again, I figured I might as well try again to revive my favourite niche perk that I sadly had to bury in summer.

Since it only activates when you're injured it's useless 99% of the time. In a nutshell: You can't pre-loot a chest to be good when you become injured - and when you are injured it takes about as long to search for a chest as it does to search for a teammate. Just that the chances of the chest having been opened already is much much higher than a teammate refusing to heal you.

My suggestion:

Make the chest opening speed available at all times.

Make looting a medkit token based. You start with one token, this allows a special interaction with a chest (same button as e.g. Potential energy) and you get a medkit regardless of the chest being closed or opened and also won't change the state of the chest. It's not so much looting a chest, it's more about having to find a chest. I'd be fine with there being only one token but I could also see certain actions could resulting in regaining a token.
