Dredges’ Nightfall Ability

I’m all for powers that exemplify horror and running around in pitch black is great for that!

Only thing is that sometimes I literally can’t see at all when affected by Dredges’ nightfall. I’m not sure if it’s map dependent or whether I’m playing at night vs day (glare on screen?) but there are lots of cases where I simply can’t see anything which feels badman. One game for example, it started off in nightfall due to the add-on and I had no idea what map it was until the power ended lol.

It’s just something I’ve been thinking for a while but didn’t want to complain about, not sure if others have had the same issue or whether it’s intentional? It’s definitely not a priority or anything but hopefully it’s not the final product and there would be another way to do it without nerfing his power or play style.

Sometimes it is dark in nightfall, yes

Unless you absolutely cannot see anything at all, as in you literally can’t even see the floor you’re walking on let alone what is directly in front of you

Not to be rude, but that’s the point of nightfall. It darkens the map and makes your visual distance next to nothing

The problem is screens can vary HEAVILY, especially depending on light conditions.

If you have kind of a crappy TV and are in the light, then yeah I wouldn't be surprised if you became unable to see basically anything. Which isn't the purpose of nightfall, it's mostly just to deprive you of seeing things more than a few meters away.

Some TVs have pretty bad brightness settings too, so you can't even always tell people to just fix it themselves. This is why most console-focused games have you choose the brightness when you launch it for the first time.

Well yeah there are games where I literally can’t see anything at all which is why I posted this. I’ve seen other players saying they see survivors running unintentionally into corners and walls of the map due to complete darkness - easy mode for dredge.

Dredge can instantly teleport anywhere on the map during this time while also being undetectable, why do I additionally have to be completely blind where I can’t even ‘fight’ back. I’m not a new player either so not even being able to tell which map I’m on due to not being able to even see the ground like you mentioned seems a little much.

I’ll play with my settings as it might be something to do with that as someone else has mentioned.
