Imagine a hook counter for killers.

Imagine the outrage if they simply gave killers a hook counter on the hud which shows how many times a survivor has been hooked. It would not be considered a "QOL change that just provides some information on the killer's hud". It would be a called a "toxic buff that helps killers with tunneling and camping, making it very unhealthy for the game". Yet all this information survivors are getting about the match without having to bring perks for it is just a "QOL change" 🥴

This, I can't even count the number of times I've screwed up reading the ring of hooks only to accidentally sac a survivor when I was planning on letting them go for the event points

    ^^ this.

I like to get everybody on 2 hooks before I sac people if the game isn't a gen rushy one.

I doubt tunneling killers would really benefit from a hook counter anyway. Because when killers tunnel a surv they stay on their back constantly and usually follow them straight off of hook.

The only people it'd drastically affect are goon squads who go in all woth the same surv and same skin.

What is the post of this thread? I mean, aside from another us vs. them?

My prediction would be that almost nobody would care about an indivual Hook Counter for Killers, yet the Devs decided against it, because they want to avoid tunneling. And I would not care about this either, it takes 2 Braincells to remember who got hooked, IMO this information available or not does not change anything.

It wouldn't change a thing you could tunnel a survivor out of the game by their name and outfit, sometimes there is a swf with the same survivor outfit and hidden username but in that case you can't complain to being tunneled if you all look the same, the addition to that would just be easier to know who is on death hook

There's no need for hook counters if I'm always just going to kill the first person I hook. And the way DBD is going is that I need to always chase the person I hook first until they die.

If I am playing Killer and I am not playing Nurse or Blight - then I need to tunnel the first person out every game no matter what.

It would be fair if both sides had the same information for hook counters. The old hud didn't tell anyone who had been hooked and that was more fair than the current hud.

    Why imagine tho?

There was huge pushback against it when killers asked why they didnt get it when the devs announced the new hud and the hook counters.
