Was the Skull Merchant supposed to be the Predetor?

Almost everything looks like it was supposed to be the Predetor originally. Powers are similar and many animations look like a streight up rip-off.

Eh. Same was speculated with Knight being a For Honor killer and other licensed/original speculation before. I don’t really think so, it’s not even that close with the drones, no invisibility..
