is hiding all match then going for hatch bannable?

just had a steve that i didn't see the whole match then got hatch. then he was super arrogant about "winning" in EGC

No great behaviour but can happen sometimes.
According to MMR if he escapes he played better than all of you.

Nope, it’s a strategy.
though if it comes down to more than one player doing it at the same time and no others progressing the game then it becomes bannable.
(no it really doesn’t make much sense)
