Should I be letting survivors go on and do gens if they give up?

I had the strangest match in which they dc'd because I didn't stop hitting them with mending. This results in them giving up and dc'ing. I was told to dodge next time I saw them. Now that brings the question that should I stop to give survivors the bp and escape or not?

Play how you want as long as it is within the rules and hitting them is definitely not breaking any rules.

don’t let those kind of people tell you what to do, if they don’t want to play let them dc and get the appropriate automatic penalty for it, if they don’t want to play against random killers then they need to play custom matches with friends instead.

Speaking for myself, I'm more sympathetic to the people who are stuck with the quitters.

A perfect example would be a Huntress match I had a while back. Was on Swamp. I killed one (I think they were left on 2nd hook) or possibly D/C'd (I don't remember, but I think it was a kill), one actively quit, following me to get killed. I decided to let the last two go since they were stuck on that, only for one of those two to simply hide in a locker to the point of crows multiple times.

I let the last person go, and they were legit grateful at me for dealing with the hider.

up to you honestly, its nice to let them go but if people complain they are kind of entitled

There's no should. You let them go or you kill them as you wish, just don't drag out the match just for the sake of making it last as long as possible and no other purpose.

When I see this I down them but no hook.

No free "get out of match" card ...so if they get a change of heart they are still in the match.

Meanwhile however, I give no quarter and do my best to get my 4K asap.

Breaking the spirit of survivors is part of the strategy, if they give up they are already dead, no need to hook those quickly.

But the flip side of that is that I won't drag out the match to revel in their misery, that would be silly.

After the match, I do let know other survivors that they played good if they did and let them know that I feel for them.

    Respect is key here.
