Voicechat in the game
I am sure the developers have heard of this suggestion countless times, and I do understand their concerns/objections to it. However, with the recent HUD updates and changes to the game, the developers seem to be playing hide and seek with balancing killers with solo queue and ensuring swf isn't too strong.
It seems like a pretty obvious solution is to ASSUME everyone is a SWF by default and have the game mechanics revolve around that (ie, longer gen/heal times, extra gen to be done).
The game is easier to play when I'm in a discord call with 3 of my friends and we can perfectly synchronize. The killer isn't able to do anything. The truth is, external voice chat will always be used, so why not make it fair and give it to everyone?

The End Game Chat censorship is hot garbage, but I've never been called a racial slur.
I'd like to keep it that way.

They'll never do this because they cannot moderate it. On a personal note, I'm incredibly thankful that children can't screech at me via a 5$ wal mart microphone for doing stuff they don't like.

If there was a voice chat, the game would need to be balanced around it in some way.
However not everyone would want to participate in a voice chat. I am one of these people. I can abstain from being called racial slurs and hear about how they will end me and my family's lifes from a microphone that sounds like a broken vacuum.

Broskies... imagine the glorious crappy hot mic action of some person blasting just the worst music/familly life drama you could think of! (Mandatory dollar store mic on that too!)
Yeah...
Lets not do that.

A lot of people are pointing out the potential toxicity and just unpleasant nature of voice chat in other games, and how that'd be just as bad if not worse here, and they're right- but I'd like to make the other, imo more compelling argument myself here.
Adding voice chat natively into the game does not give everyone SWF. Even setting aside that the ability to communicate is only half of what makes a SWF strong (with the other half being, the knowledge that your teammates aren't trash), the fact remains that voice chat being implemented doesn't mean everyone will be able to communicate. Some people would; the stars can align in certain regions for everyone to have a mic, want to use it, and do so effectively, but what about the regions where it's a non-starter because not everyone speaks the same language?
A solution that only sometimes works for one or two regions of players is not a solution at all. You'd just be in a spot where some players get to communicate and others don't- which is, you'll notice, the exact same scenario that we're in now.
Voice chat is not a solution to the problems with solo queue. To continue bridging the gap between solo queue and SWF, we need to focus on passive information provided by the game itself, not active voice comms.

I remember someone mentioning the mobile game has pre-set phrases you can choose from. You could select "Don't rescue me" if the killer is camping, for example.
It baffles me that something this simple isn't in the base game.

even if it was there, not everyone would use it. i think less than 50% would use it. Also you would have a lot of toxicity. In SWF communcation works because you know each other but with randoms it often escaltes. Id rather pass on people yelling at me to unhook them or to do gens. And language barrier would also be a problem because they match you with anything. thats a problem in itself though. im sick of playing against bad ping killers that hit you from 5m away and make dead hard useless.

Yh reckon vc would be good. Or at least preset phrases.
Toxicity would be present. Like in every game ever, but as long as they add an easy to access mute then everything is gucci.

At the moment the game has big problems with camping and tunneling. So it's better to let the developers solve these problems and not burden them with adding mechanics that are available to everyone.

This might work well in the US, but in Europe, it won't. As a mostly solo player, I often get paired with either German players or Russians, whom might not speak English. I'm more specifically referencing the Russians. In my experience from DBD and other games, most Russians don't speak English or refuse to speak English.
I do not want to be forced to listen to languages I don't understand. It's not a pleasant experience hearing Russians screaming profanities in your ear, more often with a bad microphone, sounding like they're talking from Mars. This game is better without voice chat, and if I want voice chat, I will play SWF on discord.
