Is the Yellow Glyph bugged?

I just equipped a Yellow Glyph Challenge.

I've done them in the past (on both controller & PC), however, just now I could not once actually even attempt it.

I found the Glyph 4 times in my first match and 3 times in the second match, however, I couldn't ONCE hit the first skill check. I have never had an issue "beginning" the challenge before.
