PC game disconnects in the tutorial

I literally just opened up this game today and I cannot complete the "kill the bots" section of the tutorial. Every time it disconnects with the only message of "disconnected from host." There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to when it does besides it usually happening the second I hit a survivor, but not always. I don't believe there's anything wrong with my connection, (even if there was I would find it infuriating that my internet somehow made bot matches of all things unplayable) and I would sincerely like to know if there's some fix or explanation to why this keeps happening
