stuck bloodweb bug

I am playing on PC. My bloodweb is in the state in the below screenshot. When I try to purchase the prototype rotor, the bloodpoints are spent, the game crashes and goes back to loading screen. The spent bloodpoints are back but I cannot level up anymore with the skull merchant.

Problem disappeared after I leveled up with a survivor.
