Pain Resonance New Idea

So, the patch notes are out and we are wondering "why nerf pain res?". Assuming the rework is inevitable, I have a idea for the perk: Instead of having only 4 tokens for the entire match, the white hooks would swap places with regular hooks through out the map every time a survivor is hooked on a pain res.

That way the perk is still strong, rewards the killer for spreading hooks and avoid camping/three-gen.

I might've come late to the discussion and someone already had this idea, but well, we gotta try it.

    "Why nerf pain res?"

It gave killers 15 seconds of free additional pressure & either revealed a survivor's location or auto-regressed a generator after each hook. Many many killers ran it each game. It is not unreasonable to nerf the perk.

What is the purpose of this change, though? Is it to make it more reliable because you won't struggle to find the fourth surv? This doesn't really solve the potential reliability issue because sometimes you have like, two usable scourge hooks on a map.

Unless you mean white hooks wouldn't go away, but would simply swap places with a random regular hook. Ultimately we don't know why BHVR is nerfing pain res, all they said was that it has found its way back in the meta (when did it leave?) but this probably doesn't fix any of their issues with the perk, and actually denies a bit of counterplay survivors have to scourge hooks.

If I had to guess it's simply due to it being such a strong perk, it's good on literally every killer, in any situation, and outclasses the most similar perk available to it which is pop by both saving you a lot of time and even having a more potent effect most of the time. Sabos are rare, so its only real drawback is when you get horrible map RNG. It's also frankly a "win more" perk that is extra oppressive on the strongest killers as it allows them to use their abilities to get fast downs to also get a lot of regression done without having to stop.
