Merciless Storm instantly takes 50% of gen progress if the skill check is failed.

I play on PC and noticed this bug while playing with my friends who are both on console. We were all on a gen when Merciless Storm activated. One of my friends missed the skill check and we were all kicked off the gen for the 20 seconds. After we were able to do the gen again, we noticed the progress was dropped a little over 50%. My friend and I tested this in a custom match and 100% of the time after missing a Merciless Storm skill check the gen progress instantly drops 50%.
Looking at the description of Merciless Storm, once the perk is activated there should not be that much instant regression of the gen.
