honor/props system rework
(I am going to copy and paste the feedback I sent via ticket to the Dead by Daylight support team, since I think I explain pretty well my idea and feelings towards the current status of the game and the need for an incentive to be more positive and create a healthier athmosphere around the game.)
Hi,
So these days the community has been especially sensitive and the negativity and toxicity has been noticeable not only in the actual game but also on social media with comments from content creators and regular players. This happens mainly always before a big update that can shake up the meta like the one we are going to have this Tuesday for the Mid-chapter. I've been thinking what could actually push a healthier and more positive mindset in the community now that we need it more than ever, because I really enjoy playing Dead by Daylight but it gets quite tedious and exhausting lately and it's too common to run into players on the other side that they don't care about anything else but making the game the most unfun possible for the enemy side.
This brought me to think that in the +2 years (almost 4000 hours on record) that I have been playing Dead by Daylight I have not heard a singular person saying they "gave props" in the scoreboard chat to anybody, nor I have seen it on any sort of content creation about the game (Youtube, twitch streams, etc.). For this, I believe that this feature needs a rework and make it actually worth and rewarding for people who want to keep a positive and optismistic athmosphere in the game, give some kind of reward, title, badge, I don't know. In other games with a honor system like Overwatch or League of Legends they give extra points for passes or level up, or what could be the equivalent to bloodpoints or iri shards.
The only thing people do is report, which also feel kind of underwhelming most of the times because we do not get any feedback on our report actually being helpful to stop somebody that is breaking the rules (cheater, hacker, somebody exploiting a bug, somebody dropping insults and slurs, etc.). On Steam exists the culture of "+rep / -rep" for the wall of comments from the profile but I can tell I only see -rep most of the times and it just extends the toxicity because comment walls get filled with hate comments most of the times.
I just wanted to share the idea of the honor system rework as a push for a healthier and more positive community with some kind of valuable impact that can make people try to play more fun and try to bring back a more positive and unified community. I worry a lot lately for the future of the game, because I would not want it to die anytime soon, and I see a lot of content creators stopping making contents about the game and a lot of regular players also giving up on the game and moving to other games.
Best regards!

This right here. I watched a streamer on Twitch get held hostage for well over 45 minutes she reported it and sent video evidence. However, she was never informed that yes we see your report and we are investigating. Yes actions have been taken nothing. This game is full of cheaters from flying killers to flash like survivors to instant gen repairs but yet you do nothing...

Exactly. The report/honor system need to be paid attention to and probably get reworked in order to actually make it feel useful and meaningful. Issued penalties to people who actually are harmful for the community, and rewards or bonuses for people who actually try to keep a healthy and fun athmosphere and you actually enjoyed playing with.
