Please reconsider the Tome changes
So if you don’t know every new original chapter will be getting a tome in its following mid chapter.
To be honest this is a bad idea. By doing this the devs don’t get a good idea for what’s wrong with the characters lore or even what new things they can add to it.
Knight’s tome was basically a retelling of his current base lore and Merchant seems to be following in his footsteps so far. Why even write and release an archive if it does nothing to improve or add to the character?
I understand you want to advertise the new characters but if the majority of people hate skull merchant for example doing a tome directly after will just make the sentiment worse since she’ll be played more due to challenges
Let’s not forget the roster of survivors and killers who didn’t get a tome who will now have to wait until a licensed chapter to get their turn. This includes Slinger, Zarina, Haddie and Jeff as a few examples. These characters will have to wait a long time to get their archive even though some are fan favourites (Feng and Oni)
I just don’t think this is a good way of doing the archives from now on and forces the writing team to write archives for a character without having the time to develop a fleshed out one based on community feedback of their base story

I just dont like how they are gonna do this for bad chapters as well. Release a terrible chapter well dont worry guys because it will be the next tome🤠

I haven't really thought about this, but you make some valid points. Creating new characters, and then letting few or several months pass by before their tome, to get feedback from the community, feels very smart. Not to mention that the community could influence the tome by showing the devs how they view the characters (e.g. through fanart, cosplays, suggestions).
New characters get released, players get affected in certain ways, and give feedback and their view of the characters. And that helps shape up the new characters in their tome. This feels really good, and deepens the bond between the players and the devs. I like it.

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. For example people didn’t like jonha’s lore on release but he got an archive afterwards which helped things out a lot
when given time bhvr can fix problems associated with lore. When given a month and a half they can’t realistically do that which is what led to knight and merchant tome stories (at least so far for merchant)

Exactly. It sours the community more by having a chapter which isn’t well received be centre stage for 2 updates in a row

I feel like BHVR is desperate to convince us that Skull Merchant is a cool killer and a good character, but it's not working. I'd rather have a Tome about anyone else, though I'm definitely biased because most of my favorite characters don't have Tomes yet.

I agree to an extent. The same happened with trickster where they really wanted the community to like him when most just didn’t. He didn’t get a tome directly after launch however but pretty close to it
