What's the fun factor of Dead by Daylight to you?
Without writing an essay on game design and theory, I want to understand the mindset at the moment on the elements of the game which YOU find appealing. (Not anyone else, just you.)
For me: Interaction between the sides.
"What interaction? There is so many different types which one is it?!"
We all love a good chase; I'm not talking about loops where I'm standing still waiting to go in the opposite direction of the killer. I'm talking about actually having both sides vaulting through obstacles, that red stain getting closer and closer building tension, with the lovely music. (Thanks, Michel F. April.) You may call this "holding W" well, no, I actually tend not to do that as I want the fun to be had for both of us, meaning vaults through buildings, using balanced and falling from ledges etc.
While I know Dbd is not Warframe or Death Garden, I do hope someday we can have a fun movement mechanic that is more involved than just the two keys. But hey, it keeps me going for what it is!
Let's hear what keeps the game fun for you!

What kind of a mechanic would be considered a "fun movement mechanic" that would make chases more fun and not just be completely broken for one side or just be completely useless and not really add anything significant enough to the chase itself that would justify it's existence?

It's dead. Bhvr killed it.
What I used to really enjoy is trawling through the off meta perks looking for interesting and fun ways to use them.
Two "meta shake ups" later... all the stuff I was using is meta, which makes me not interested anymore and the previously meta stuff pretty much all got axed so hard to be not worth it.
In addition to that, they giga nerfed some perks even though they weren't meta in the first place. Like... nobody was asking for turbo nerfs for BK, SC, and calm spirit but... they did it anyway.
