2 simple Ideas for modernizing Trapper

First: Trapper should start with all traps in his possession, including any additional ones added via addons. Maybe the trapper gets a sack on his back! That’d be cool.

Second, and most important, this is the game changer:

Trapper should be able to set traps on-the-go while walking, but slows down while doing so, like how Gunslinger slows down while reloading. Same principle.

The trapper then simply drops/places the already-set trap, which takes a split second to do.

This will help the trapper in so many ways!

First, the trapper will no longer have to stop for about 3-4 seconds to set and place a trap, which is a very obvious action.

Now that the trapper can set traps on-the-go, and place them quickly, it will no longer be so obvious to the survivors where the trapper is placing his traps, making it less likely for survivors to follow trapper and disarm his traps.

So the new animation would show the trapper reaching (behind his back? Into his backpack?) for his trap, using both hands to open/arm it, then placing it wherever, which is a very quick action. Maybe the new animation simply shows the trapper dropping the trap in one smooth quick motion, no more stopping, bending over, etc.

I hope you’ll take this idea into consideration.

Best,

Diehard fan
