Idea for camping/tunneling
I think we all can agree this is our biggest problem, but some people think it could be solved by altering the perks until something works. For right now, perks are just fine except one or two.
Recently, It has come to my attention that punishing killers for a strategy is a bit absurd, Sadly we all have to accept that camping and tunneling is a viable strategy. Even though the strategy is boring and so petty, it has its infamous reputation by being effective. Punishments just morph the game into a disaster that can be prevented by rewarding killers when they don't tunnel/camp. (Even I thought we should punish killers for their play-style) So I've re-edited this because I want to hear your Ideas to Prevent Tunneling/camping by ENCOURAGING and REWARDING killers.

No. Some Survivors salty that they died agree it's a problem.
If he chooses to go for him, nothing happens until he hits them. The killer will suffer from the Hindered status effect for about 30-35 seconds.
ROFL! I mean R O F L! Great! So now the unhooked can bodyblock with BT and, if I hit them, I slowed down for half a minute!?
And you saw NO WAY in which this would be broken, busted, abused, and downright used as a weapon?
The killer is camping a survivor on the hook, you manage to unhook the survivor, since the killer was in a certain range for a certain time, he'll suffer the hindered for about 30 seconds.
Oh good. SO a Survivor can run up, farm an unhook, and now the Killer is punished.
All because Survivors insist camping should be 'punished' with mechanics they can abuse maliciously for EZ wins.
No. No. and No.
Did I mention 'no'?

Well I said when he hit the survivor with BT, so no survivor could bodyblock with BT

Your post does not mention BT at all.

I didn't say that specifically, but I said when the killer chooses to go for the survivor, (the unhooked survivor) nothing happens until he hits him which then the killer would get the Hindered. I'm going to re-edit to say that.

And how does that interact with BT?
With BT: Survivor can now bodyblock, and if he's hit, he gets BT AND the Killer is Hindered for half a minute.
That's broken and ripe for abuse.

OK I see that logic now, but the BT lasts for about 8 seconds, so if you just stand there the survivors will get the message and run.

That's still 8 seconds in which they are preventing the killer from changing targets. You know; the thing Survivors already whine the Killer never does.
Plus they are STILL able to bodyblock because they know the Killer will be Hindered if he hits them after those 8 seconds.
It's just another mechanic that Survivors can weaponize. People need to stop looking for punishments.

I try to stop Jake unhooking, He unhooks and the unhooked Dwight gets in the way or tries to bodyblock, I accidently hit Dwight.
I am now hindered for 35 seconds, Survivors tbag at the exit gates. Wow Thanks bHVR.
Im not a fan of this, it gives Survivors too much Power. Can we please stop suggesting ideas to penalize the other side for playing the game?

For all the other discussions, It's pretty hard to find a way for killers to prioritize other things than survivors. Even though my Idea was a little bit flawed, I do appreciate the brainstorming... I totally forgot about the bodyblocking. :)

I just saw a better solution:
Pause the BT timer if the unhooked is being chased. Many killers waits for the BT to go to hit the survivor again, also, give them a little shiled if they hit just right when hey get unhooked.
And maybe make able to use OTR even if you got hit with basekit BT, because is BS that you can't use OTR because of that

The problem in how the game is made is there isn't much in ways to actually change how chases work with tunneling and camping. Changing perks and adding new effects (like the basekit BT) can only go so far, but won't fix anything in the long run because of it.
Making a killer slower because he's playing the game in an okay manner isn't very fun.

Instead of punishing the killer, why not reward them? Punishing them is not good game design you should add incentives to not tunnel like.
Bonus bloodpoints, more movement speed or higher gen regression on kicks. This way the killer is encouraged to not tunnel and actually get a reward

I see what your saying and I'm totally down. I understand I'm not a developer, but finding some way to reward the killers enough to stop the camping and tunneling is very difficult. Same for punishing the killers for the play style, We can't change this without making a massive dissension.

No. Unhooked Survivors already bodyblock with basekit BT. This idea means the Kilelr now HAS to hit them, or be permanently bodyblocked by someone who has infinite BT until hit.
2 -
Hit them then

So basically:
- Survivors whine about tunneling.
- Devs give basekit BT.
- Survivors now bodyblock off the hook, essentially FORCING Killers to tunnel them.
- Killers: We want to stop tunneling but you are bodyblocking.
- Survivors: Just hit them!
- Killers hit them.
- Survivors: Whaaa! I'm still being tunneled! Give us punishments! Give us abuseable mechanics! Remove tunneling!
Is that about how it's going right now? Because your reply to INFINITE BT TO PREVENT TUNNELING is 'Just tunnel them!'
Oh, but don't DOWN them, right? Downing them would be bad, but just HITTING them, and getting all the slowdown of a hit, is ok! Just hit them, get the slowdown & weapon wipe animation, and let them escape, or it's TUNNELING! 😮
Survivor entitlement at max; "Give us infinite BT to prevent tunneling, then hit us if we abuse it to bodyblock.'

or I will wait out their BT and watch them cry on tunneling. Works better...
Had option to leave, didn't take it. Why should I care?
1 -
But that's tunnelling, which is apparently the problem...
3 -
It’s actually not that hard. You can either do
- Make bbq bloodpoint bonus base kit so you get more bloodpoints.
- make it so each unique hook increases your move speed by 1.25% so at 4 unique hooks you move 5% faster and you lose the speed when a survivor dies
- each unique hook makes the gen kick regression 2.5% more so at 4 unique hooks your gen kick regression is 12.5% for until 1 survivor dies.

This is not bad, however all of these are a perks effect, which would mean that we would have to change. The extra Bloodpoints... that's fine, but the other two feels like basekit Brutal Strength and Play With Your Food. I'm not trying to downplay you but it seems the devs would go ahead and change the perks if they're too similar. (I know they did the same thing with BT, but that's just one perk I doubt that the devs would be ok with changing multiple perks.)

The difference is that person really want to be tunneled.
I don't like to tunnel, but if a survivor just bodyblock me instead of going away and heal, well, I'm gonna down them then
0 -
There's a difference between going for the same survivor who just got unhooked and a survivor who bodyblocks.
If a survivor try to bodyblock you and you downed them, well, is their fault not matter how much they cry
