Made for This needs a change

Gabriel’s new perk, Made of This, is exactly the kind of perk that shouldn’t be in the game as it rewards one side for not doing anything and just getting a perk for free. This exact reason is why NOED, Overbrine, and Boil Over all got nerfed because it rewarded a specific side for something that took little effort to activate.

Why is Made for This a problem? A permanent 3% Haste boost for just getting injured, no other requirement, just lose a chase and you earn a 3% haste for free.

Now, before survivor players come in here and say that I don’t want survivor players to have strong perks, that’s not the case. Despite all 3 of Gabe’s perks being strong I only think this one and Scavenger need changes, but that one is a completely different topic in of itself.

Back to the original statement, MfT is a very problematic perk due to a few factors, the killer you’re playing, the map you’re on, and it’s ability to combine with other perks, namely, Hope. Let’s start with the maps.

This perk on maps like Léry’s, RCPD, Mother’s Dwelling, Borgo, Gideon, Midwich, Haddonfield, etc. they incentivize the one thing both sides dislike, holding forward. By having a 3% permanent movement speed any killer on these maps that is not Huntress, Slinger, Trickster, Spirit, Blight or Nurse are going to have an exceptionally hard time to catch up.

What killers does this affect? A majority of the roster. Any killer that doesn’t have a power to snatch you away or hit you far away or to catch up quickly will be punished. Look at Haddonfield, the houses on this map, especially the one across the street from main building on the edge of the map off to the right (you know the one) is near impossible to catch up if you’re a 110 killer and the survivor plays right. Combined with a survivor now moving at 103 for the rest of the time they’re injured, you never can catch up. This will effect these killers and are not limited to Nemesis, Ghostface, Pig, Trickster (despite him able to down from a distance), Trapper, Legion, Plague (just realized this is busted against her), Demo and many others.

Lastly, is the perk synergy. Perks should have synergy, but not like this. A survivor should not be allowed to permanently move at the same speed as a specific killer for a significant portion of the match. MfT with Hope, allows any survivor to move at 110 movement speed. This means, if you play Deathslinger, or Trickster on specific maps at the end game, hell even Huntress depending on map, you will never catch up because you both move at the exact same speed.

And I hear the argument about Bloodlust and yes, Bloodlust helps make the killer move faster, but only in chase. If you’re on Midwich and see the survivor at the end of the hall and you start trying to catch up, you never will and you both will be able to run around the whole floor of Midwich multiple times and never end up catching that survivor. This is not healthy for the game as no survivor should be allowed to move at the same speed as a killer. It completely removes any chance for the killer to try and catch the survivor

This is why I think Made for This needs some kind of alteration before going into live, this can ruin so many maps and killers. It takes no effort to activate and will do more harm than good
