PC- game crashes when trying to load to main menu

This has been occurring for two months now. I was on Win7 and upgraded to Win10 hoping that would fix the problem since Win7 is no longer supported. I've tried reinstalling the game and reinstalling EAC.
Step 1: start game from steam or windows apps
Step 2: blue bar loads
Step 3: game crashes and steam says i'm no longer playing the game. No error message.
