Pharmacy is completely outdated

We have 2 new chest perks Residual manifest and Scavenger. Both have one thing in common you can rummage the opened chest to get an item. That’s not the case with pharmacy.

It’s ironic how they “buffed” pharmacy in the meta change update but actually made it worse. The effects don’t activate while healthy. Not even the chest speed bonus happens you have to be injured. Also if all chests were searched you can’t get your medkit. It should be to where you can rummage the chest to get a med kit but I thought of something else that could make the perk more appealing. Here’s my reworked pharmacy.

-Med kits healing speed when healing others are increased by 40/45/50%

-This perk grants the ability to rummage through an opened chest once per trial and will guarantee a first aid kit(yellow one)

I removed the chest opening speed and noise reduction cause I honestly believe those can go on plunderers instinct and would make it a better beginner friendly perk. That’s my cents on it I just came up with this on the spot.

The change to Pharmacy was a net buff, but they should add the Chest opening modifiers while healthy as a QoL change, and give Pharmacy a single rummage token that can be used just in case of all chests being opened (as well as guaranteeing Green Medkits on an injured chest search, maybe the token could go away if you got a Green Medkit from a chest).

I don't think making it a one-use only rummage perk would make it see any more use at all. It'd make getting the medkit take much longer (since you have to open a chest and THEN rummage, all with no speed bonus), and you'd only get one whereas you can currently get multiple. It'd be worse than the original Pharmacy.

What really killed Pharmacy, though, was the change to Green Medkits. There really isn't a reason to use it after that.

The fact that all medkits are the same and I can't get a quick heal during desperation probably killed any viability for this perk. Just makes Botany/Self Care more time saving.

I don´t think Pharmacy is the problem, ALL chest perks are useless because survivors dont usually need to open chests in current dbd.

You are punished for wasting time opening chests and the items you get from them (aside from toolboxes) had all been nerfed in recent years so they are rarely worth the effort. Keys are useless 95% of games, maps too, flashlights had most the killer interactions removed and weak overall, all medkits now are nerfed and the same and even if you get toolbox unless you get really lucky and get a commodius or an engineer they are not worth it either.

That's why you also don`t see Plunderer, Ace in the Hole and Appraisal.

i think its pretty good in mettle of man builds. you run a med-kit with styptic agent when blocking hooks then you go to the basement and heal. After that, you bodyblock the hook one last time and now you get Mettle of man. certainly not a meta build to escape with survivor but it is funny meme perk.

Inner Strength is just objectively better. You get more heals and they're way faster now.

I would change the perk in a way that it will give you limited item (can't carry to next game), and it will be med-kit that you can selfheal yourself without the penalty, so in 16 seconds by default.

I actually like that idea. Since medkits were nerfed there’s no point in getting a green medkit.
