PC - Not being able to play with friends on different platforms

I can not load into a game with my boyfriend on PS5. I'll load into a match but he stays in the lobby. The lobby then becomes bugged and won't get a fourth person. He also couldn't get into my lobby until he restarted his PS5, but still couldn't get into a game with me. I've heard a handful of others having this problem.
