Why do you make it so easy for survivors to grief each other?

It's almost like the game is designed around survivors being able to grief their teammates. Totems are put inside alcoves that are easily body blocked. I watched some Feng Min run in circles while my friend opened the exit gate, then my friend went into an alcove to cleanse the obvious NOED and the Feng Min followed and blocked him in because that's an annoyingly common thing to do when someone else gets to cleanse a totem. They both got crows and the Feng Min waited until the last second to run off, and had Feng not screwed up blocking my friend's path in the exit gate my friend would've died.

Why are there so many areas on maps designed such that a survivor can easily body block another survivor? Why don't survivors at least lose collision when they get crows? Why has body blocking been allowed to remain a problem for so long?

Honestly I don't get why survivors have collision to each other at all...?
