Why doesn't DBD have player stats?

Most games have stats that you yourself can look at or your opponent

Seems like they want people to not get hung up on stats and just focus on having fun regardless of the stats. I mean the game doesn't even really do a great job at keeping basic score in a way that makes sense from game to game.

Exactly what the game needs to become even sweatier and lose all its casualness. No thank you! Hope the player cards they'll implement this year have no stats regarding kill/escape rate, because it will be the end of the casual gameplay for this game and will definitely hurt it. If they implement a "rank mode" for such thing, sure, but as long as there is only one queue and game mode... I don't think it's a good idea at all and will only bring even more anger and bitterness to the community, making casuals vs "sweats" fights to get more hostile and rage even more.

While they do exactly this all the time... Hypocrites

I don't see what is hypocritical about this.
They're job requires them to keep track of stats for purposes of balancing the game. We don't absolutely need to have viewable stats in order to enjoy the game.

Statistics are tool needed for balancing, but you shouldn't balance mainly around statistics without understanding context.
That's how we ended with them trying to nerf Billy add-ons, or Nemesis add-on nerfs, Pig nerfes etc.
They did improve lately, but wouldn't say they are good.

This is true that stats outside of context can be misleading.
Which is why I think we've never really gotten proper access to them as players.

Yeah, but is it really better when community have to do it for them (nightlight) and it forces everyone else to work with incorrect data?
It's simply normal to show statistics for almost every multiplayer game. It's not really good they are not confident enough to share results.

I don't think confidence issue. I think it's just an attempt to discourage people from doing what normally happens in other multiplayer games where people are judged on their stats often negatively.
I'm noting it is the right thing to do cause people just moved on to judging folks on everything from prestige level to whether or not they are using certain cosmetics or not. I get why people want to see their stats and I know why people are interested in seeing others stats, but dbd might the worst game to look at stats in.
It's normal, but like dbd ain't normal and thus its stats aren't normal. We don't even have to see them to know that the stats this game produces is abnormal because we get to experience the decision making that follows the stats and we do know what stats are being collected we also know that to a degree they ain't accurate. There are conditions where entire games get dropped from stat collection regardless of outcome sometimes.
So to me, it's neither better nor worse if the community get their stats from nightlight considering either way the numbers at that point exist out of context and lack accuracy.

I don't care about personal data. It's fine they want to hide it, so players don't tryhard even more they already do.
I would be completely fine with global data. Kill rate, pick rate filter for regions, maps, MMR etc.
