Ideas to fix the discrepancy in balance for low and high MMR?
Right now if you ask the community is the game is killer or survivor sided. You would never hear the end of it. I am a killer main. So, my survivor is at the lower MMR side. I always get bull dozed by killers because most of my team mates are also low MMR. They don't play survivor as efficiently as higher MMR survivors. So, my survivor experience is most losses because of that.
Now flip that to my killer. Since, I main killer I do better as a killer. However, now I have hit a plateau where I also losing a lot or mostly ending up in draws as killer instead of 3k or 4k wins. This is because as you get better you get matched up with even more seasoned survivors.
So, in the end either role I play ends up being mostly losses or draw. Now, I am not sure this what devs mean by balance but I think it is safe to say most of us do not want to be thinking about playing for a e sports championship every time when playing killer. The same for survivor. No one wants to keep losing because they don't have a SWF squad to coordinate against the killer. So, how do we improve the experience for both sides in this scenario?
My suggestion is to create game modes such as no meta perks or synergistic builds. Something like the random perk challenge we have in the event tome. The killers in this mode can be tweaked to have weaker powers or stronger powers to balance out things for fairness. At least this way both sides do not get to use busted things that makes the game miserable for the other side.
I know it will be more work to do but the current flat nerf or buff across the board isn't really panning out well. For example, you buff killers. That's amazing for higher MMR play. Killers can handle harder survivors better. However, what about lower MMR survivors? Now they find the killer too strong than they already were. Same for survivor perk buffs. It helps lower MMR players to handle the killer better. However, higher MMR killers then struggle against harder survivors that are now buffed up.
