The Shape Mini-Rework Idea

Though this will most likely never happen, one can hope.

Here is my 5 cents on how to rework our first DLC Killer.

1ste Change- Gameplay strategy

Jumpscare Myers has been a essential part of DBD culture and should be preserved. So I propose making Myers a Killer who starts off as a stealth killer, but becomes less stealthy and more brutal as the game continues.

Evil Within - As a learning game developer myself, I know how nightmarish it can be to refactor spagetti code. Especially on a killer as old as Myers, so I propose the following change.

Overall Changes.

Firstly, Remove the Tombstone addon. It is unhealthy for Myers and this is coming from a killer main. Leave the insta-kill to the Iridescent Addon and Moris.

Secondly, we will need a bit of context.

Evil Within builds charge by "draining" evil from survivors. Once a Survivor is completely drained, the power is useless and you become a M1 killer.

I propose changing the "amount" of evil in survivors to unlimited, but in return, halve the charge rate of evil within, then test to find a sweet spot to balance him out.

New Passive - Ever-present Evil: While Myers has the Undetectable Status effect and is NOT at Stage 1 of Evil Within, he gains a 5% Haste Effect. (This effect is to not only give him some mobility, but it also pays homage how in old slasher movies, the killer always seems to have some unnatural speed when out of sight of the protagonist.)

This should be easy to implement in the spagetti code. Check for the status effect, and if he has it, give him a speed boost.

The next changes I can't really speak as confidently on as they can be more difficult to implement depending on how the code works.

Evil Within Stage 1 -

  1. Give Myers a Normal Lunge Range, he still has slower movement speed.

Thats really all that I would change from Evil Within 1, give him a normal lunge.

Evil Within Stage 2 -

  1. When Myers enters Evil Within Stage 2 by any means, he gains the Undetectable Status effect for 20 seconds.

This change is to allow Myers to use his new passive ability throughout the match. After going on a large rampage, he then goes quiet, so that Myers constantly hops between this stealthy unseen menace and a unstoppable menace.

Evil Within Stage 3 -

  1. While Lunging, Myers cannot be stunned.
  2. Increase Vaulting Speed by 50%.
  3. While in Evil Within Stage 3, Myers cannot gain the Undetectable Status effect.

While in stage 3, Myers needs to become a rampaging monster. This is when in the movies, he attacks, tossing stuff over and ignoring bullet shots to get to his victim.

All in all, I hope this idea sounds good. Please let me know what you think and, yeah, thank you for even reading this. Take care!

I like this! It makes myer's more accruate to the movies (which he is already which is perfect) and not making him too overpowered. I could totally see him keeping the stalk limit but would be able to mori them when it's filled or it's able to go away when you're working on generators, running, or hiding! Great idea :)
