Disconnected Survivor Bots are not altruistic enough

I think bots are an awesome addition to the game, and most of the time they are doing infinitely better than people they are replacing.

At the same time I think that their logic should be tweaked a bit. For example:

  1. After the bot unhooks you, they are trying to heal you which is fine, but they stop and run away at the very moment they hear the terror radius. Even if you are two seconds from being fully healed. I think they should have a lower threshold for running away if they are performing actions like healing.
  2. They sometimes put their lives above real players. I had a match as a killer, where players made some mistakes that resulted in all 3 human players downed and only the bot was left standing. I hooked everybody quite close to each other, and knowing that bots are really "immersed" I walked away to the opposite side of the map so it could rescue others. That never happened - the bot waited until everybody died on hook and got the hatch. Although this decision might be considered correct play, I think that nobody gives a **** if the bot lives. In a situation like this they should go for the rescue or die trying, and I think that would be better both from survivor's and killer point of view.

My general point is that they play way too safe when other players need help, and this should not be the case especially because they are bots and nobody cares if they die.

I agree that they are an incredibly positive addition to reduce the frustrations of solo queue. I have over 8k hours on two different platforms, and I virtually only play survivor (much more fun for me, personally).

Yesterday, I had several bots from different matches indicate they wanted to heal me after I escaped a chase (two or three crouches while standing right next to me). In my head I thought "wow they really nailed that human behavior" but in a few cases, as soon as I stood there to let them heal, they ran away lol. Mind you this all happened within like 3 seconds. I also noticed they don't really know how to cope with being denied lol. On one match, we were on the last generator and the bot INSISTED on healing instead of co-op'ing the gen. After he crouched indicating he wanted to heal me (but I stayed on the gen), he just stood there while I finished the gen.

I'm sure they'll continue to fine-tune the programming. I'm impressed so far, though, as this is scores better than just losing an entire part of your team. I hear you when you say they play too safe, though, as I also noticed some questionable choices. But I almost wonder if that's intentional to more closely mimic human behavior/play styles. Best case scenario, we shouldn't be able to tell the difference. That will never happen, but I hope they keep making adjustments! For something so new, it's way less problematic than I anticipated :)
