Overcharge is bugged

I'm playing on PC - Epic Games
You can literally completely ignore Overcharge as survivor. If you find out the killer has Overcharge you simply tap the generator, and let go immediately, you don't get the overcharge skill check.
Ways to duplicate. Load into match. Find out the killer has Overcharge. Tap generator. Easy game.
Happens every time I run into a killer using Overcharge.
I personally don't use the perk, nor do I mind it as survivor, but this is definitely not working as intended.
