The Singularity is another bad designed killer.

I´m playing a few times with The Singularity, just because I have challenges in the current tome, and guys... He is soooo hard to play. Backing from cameras during chases is very annoying, plus EMP´s are too strong... I don´t know what was the intention, but given that almost no one is playing this killer I assume that my guess is right. BHVR missed again.

I gotta say, doing those challenges was pain, his power is shut down so easily its laughable. Almost felt like I was playing Trapper 😅

I see a lot of ppl say this about singu and im just curious if you're a controller or keyboard gamer? On pc I think he's great and interesting to play once you get the hang of using the cameras.

Knight and Dull Merchant suffer from entirely different things than Singularity. Singularity is supposedly quite strong. Although its skill floor is so high that you might as well play a different killer and get better results overall. Even Nurse is easier than that killer.

But overall you aren't wrong. BHVR missed the mark yet again. I'd hope for the next chapter but after seeing what they did with Sadako I'm less than optimistic.

Playing him on controller is kinda of a pain. Trying to move your camera fast enough to hit survivors can be a real chore there's even times where you can't move it fast enough to track them.

Sometimes having killers with a high skill floor and ceiling isn’t a bad thing. I’ve been playing him a lot lately and getting better with him. Just because you’re not getting decent results right off the bat doesn’t mean the killer is badly designed.

I mean he has a rather high skill floor to use his power and I can understand that that scares people away to give up on it. But I would not call it "bad designed killer" because of that. There are many killer powers that are rather hard to use but you can still just play him as an M1 killer and get used to using his power in slow portions, something you cannot do with Nurse for example.

I feel like I’ve never become a main of a new killer this quickly. I play almost nothing but Singularity now, he’s one of if not my favorite killer. However, I agree at least when I first started playing him that he’s very difficult and that EMPs are too strong. But once you get good at him, he can be very fun.

I like singularity, in fact he is one of my mains, but think about this, why play a killer that requires much more effort for a lesser reward.

Like I play him because I like the camera aspect of his power but he is a billy type of issue, there is no reason to play billy because blight exists, blight rewards your skill, billy requires too much skill for little payoff, same as singularity, but he has the added factor of survivors being able to turn off your power, which will deter any new player from using him.

Because the payoff feels so much more rewarding when playing a character that doesnt hold your hand for the majority of the match.

When I play Blight I dont feel like I won, I feel like he did. When I play Billy, I feel like the outcome of that match was mainly because of my decisions and overall skill with him.

I think its dependent of the player, like I will use your example, when I hit a flick with blight I feel like I am cracked, or when I manage to get a hug tech (which is like 4 times total, since I suck at blight), but whrn I hit a curve as billy all thats in my head is "this survivor messed up badly, if they were good this shouldnt have happened".

Same happens for a win, when I win as blight I feel like each time I am building towarda becoming a stronger blight player, however when I win as billy my only tought is "good lord I didnt face good player or they would have stomped me"

You know the worst part, because people said billy is more fun and takes more skill I dedicated my time to learning billy, so I can curve pretty consistently and do some cool plays, yet I HATE it, each time I do something cool as billy I wonder why I didn't spend my time learning blight (also because I like blight aestethics WAY more) but learning billy for like a year I can say at least for me: I wasted my time and would have rather learned blight instead, because I am a horrible blight player and I hate being one.

Jeez. People in here need to learn that if ur not good with a certain killer doesn’t mean they are bad, more often than not it means u are.

and thats ok, we can always learn

I mean yeah it will always depend on the player/person. To pick a character because others told you they're fun doesn't mean you're obligated to have fun with them. When Billy was at his peak I didnt bother learning him because he didnt really interest me at the time, I was more focused on killers like Trapper, Wraith or Spirit

Also the payoff comes in the form of actually going against skilled players, since you can beat 99% of groups in pubs with basically any killer.

Billy is a below average killer currently which is commonly agreed on. And basically everyone that plays Billy a lot knows that and says it rather constantly, Hens is a good Billy Player once said something like "Billy is really hard and terribly weak"...

Even if mastered many other killers are far better with much less effort. And many, especially newer maps don't help him much as they have terrible collision and tiles that are too big to be curved.

I would give him another chance if only we could set camera sensitivity ourselves. The jump from melee sens to camera sens on controller is really bad for me.

If they make some hard archives for him, I will have to farm them I guess

Singularity is solid A-tier killer. The problem is, that he's SO. DAMN. HARD. It's like almost nobody can play him at his full potential (but he can hard-stomp when you do). That does not make him bad design. That does make him hard (similar to Billy, but there's a difference that best billy is still not as good as best singularity by huge margin)
