trying to hold back judgement till i played against her
And wow genuinely one of the most unenjoyable experiences ive had with this game, still not as bad as skull merchant
but i genuinely felt like I couldn't do anything
i felt like i had to go back and forth the whole game just to not get mori, very fun and engaging gameplay

PiCk uP A TaPE
in all seriousness though good luck not getting condemned in solo q
7 -
- Pick up tape at start
- Hold tape while doing gens
- Win
Most groups are dying because they either don't pick up a tape till it's too late or they spend all game running tapes back and forth which is the wrong way to do it. You just want to grab it and then hold onto it. She's a basic m1 killer that is extremely loopable. People shouldn't be getting condemned unless they're ignoring the mechanic or suck at looping a basic m1 killer. I've been spamming her all day the last couple days and like 95% of groups do either 1 of those two things wrong which is why they get condemned. When they actually play properly it's a close game. You can't just play against her like old Sadako and not respect her condemn.
7 -
It's not that easy.
You do that but some teammates refuse then you run around for 1 minute trying to find a tape but all tvs that you know are turned off because of your teamates and Sadako spamming TP of cooldown.
I literally was running around for 1 min and saw 4 different tvs all turned off.
Ended up going back to the first tv since it should be off cooldown.
By that time i was already almost fully condemmed.
Fun and engaging gameplay

I found it quite normal. she got just 1 condemn kill in the 1 match I saw her. and it was quite late game.
granted, pretty sure she wasn't going for condemn kills
2 -
I mean what you described was teammates playing badly. If your team played badly you should lose. That isn’t a Sadako issue.
Also why didn’t you already have a tape on you from the immediate start of the game? She hasn’t had a chance to turn lots of them off by that point so that was a misplay. You should be standing in front of a tv at the moment they turn on.
3 -
Said it in the Ptb feedback that she would be less enjoyable to play as and against. Also said how this could have been prevented.
Got ignored.
#bringbackSadako

I had a tape from the begining of the match but got hit once.
Should i loose because i git hit once and snowballed from there?

You speak as if Onryo somehow has like only a 4 ms movement speed or something. Some killers are definitely better at looping than others but none of them just straight up can’t do it. And looping isn’t as easy on the survivor side as everyone says it is. Maybe it’s because I play on switch idk but while I can loop effectively at times it isn’t as easy as just holding a button.
I do agree that holding a tape asap should be your strategy but if a killer has only one plausible strategy to beat them they might be broken.
1 -
No but you should be able to find one tape in the entire time it takes you to get full condemn, that would have been a very significant time you spent running around.
3 -
I’d say it’s easier to loop a basic m1 than people act like. The loop is very much in the survivors favor generally speaking. A longer looping is more gens done and less tv teleporting, meaning more tvs will be available for clearing stacks. In other words if y’all are even decent loopers there should be plenty of tvs to clear stacks.
Also if the condemn is her only viable strategy I would say that means she’s too weak, not broken.
2 -
Your entire counter is thrown out the window if she has Iri Tape or Mother's Comb, or even worse, both.
Again, not true at all if she has Iri Tape or Mother's Comb, which - Shocker - All Sadako players spam for easy condemn kills.
2 -
No, those addons are fine. Comb is even overrated. Those addons aren’t stopping you from getting a tv.
2 -
I didn't went from 0 to full.
I went from 2 to like 6 then because she had the iri add-on she ambushed me again got full condemmed.
Managed to loose her in chase get another tape and get ambushed again to my death.
Would it be that bad for survivors to see all tvs that are on if they have any condemmed.
That is all i want at this point.
Just give me the aura of all tvs on at all time.
1 -
No, they are not fine. Comb takes all the guesswork away from Sadako, and just tells her where the survivor with a tape is. Iri Tape removes her biggest counter. It's really not that hard to follow a Survivor with a tape and just teleport to the TV they're running towards. So yes, they are stopping you from getting a TV.
1 -
if all 4 survivors grab a tape at the same time, how does comb help? The issue is from the lack of survivors adapting holding back the ones who do, just like it is with her in general. Its early days and the people in the back arent quite getting it yet, or worse, refusing to adapt.
3 -
I didn’t say condemning was her only viable strategy. I said survivors only have one viable strategy to use against her. Given that she can play one way and then switch to condemnation mode therefore making all survivors have to switch to that strategy to even stand a chance is, imo, broken. I always did well with her before the changes. I thought she could use some light buffs but turning her into this was overkill.
0 -
You always did well before because she was F tier and extremely bad. Without her condemn she is bad in every aspect that makes a good killer good. If we nerfed her condemn she would need massive buffs around the board.
2 -
She chooses one, and what team of Solo Queue teamates are going to grab the tapes at the same time? Not one. You're right, Sadako's main issue is Solo Queue, which is the a majority of the games playerbase.
I have not seen a singel Sadako with those add-ons lose. Content Creators have gotten 4Ks with that build with one hand.
It makes her incredibly easy to play and get kills with against a majority of the Survivor playerbase. That is unhealthy, and anybody who can't see it is clearly biased.
Basekit, she is absolutely fine, perhaps even still weak. These add-ons should not be miles better than her rest. They enforce a boring, long game. It is not fun to get slugged over and over or scramble around the map constantly picking up your teamates.
1 -
TBF people were asking for her chase to get buffed and her condemn to get nerfed, bhvr just.... did the exact opposite.
0 -
Then give her buffs to her chase power. Make her more interesting than "Teleport to TV, slug, teleport to TV."
0 -
I did well because she was bad? Care to eleborate?
0 -
tvs turn on at the same time at the start. it takes zero coordination for all 4 to grab a tape at the same time.
0 -
Show me a game where that happens and I'll agree with you.
In every game I've played against her, that does not happen.
Not only that, that counter is thrown out the window if she has Iri Tape.
1 -
It doesnt happen because everyone would rather complain than take a damn tape. We're going in circles.
As for the Iri addon, it doesnt change the fact that she needs to smack each person once to get rid of their tape. Its not about turning it in as much as it is being a talisman protecting you from passive condemn gain. You only need to turn it in if you're at 4+ stacks. She's still an M1 killer at the end of the day, so loop her better if youre losing too many tapes.
1 -
Give me a world where a solo queue team is coordinated, all near a TV when they turn on, the Sadako isn't near one of those survivors when they grab a tape, or where half the team doesn't grab tapes and I'll believe you.
Only issue is, you will never be able to. Condemn Sadako is entirely too powerful against Solo Queue, and there is not a single thing you can say that will change my mind. I cannot control the other players, I cannot make them stop "complaining" and neither can you. If you wanna keep arguing for an easy kill playstyle, go ahead, but it's clear we're not going to come to any sort of constructive agreement, so I'm done.
Have a good day.
1 -
I offer the advice I do to help people learn, instead of knee jerk calling everything OP in early days. The more people adapt, the better solo q becomes. This happens every time a killer requires any secondary objective, and people eventually (mostly) adapt.
1 -
Good for you. That is a genuinely helpful thing to do for the community.
The only thing is, a small population of the games player base is on the forums. Telling people to "just grab tapes lol" is not going to reach a substantial amount of the player base, and is never going to reach my teammates, especially when the game itself does such a ######### job at even explaining how to counter specific killers.
I already knew and know how to play against Sadako. The MAJORITY of players are having an issue against hers. That is an issue.
Again, just have a good day. You aren't going to change my mind, and I'm not going to change yours.

i just played against the new onyro rn and it was unbelievably easy. wanna know why? i just picked up a tape.
incase you want a more in-depth explanation, i picked up a tape. i did gens by myself and sometimes wit others, she DID hit me and hooked me, but that didn't stop me from getting a tape. i got healed, got a tape, and we were at 2 gens. i saw nea was condemned and got chased, she got downed and i completed my gen and she got mori'd. she got mori'd because she refused to pick up a tape, and so she died. i thought to myself "huh, if i put the tape in rn, and she tps, ill get a stack. let me just wait until she tp's" and nick cage decided to insert his tape infront of me. good thing i thought because next thing you know, he gets a stack and i dont. THEN i insert the tape and get rid of my 2 stacks. then, the last gen got done and i got out.
its as simple as that, you grab a tape, boom you completely remove her power from yourself. they literally decided to make CURSED tapes a protection tool instead of an actual CURSED tape.

"Everyone" did well because she was bad. Myself included.
0 -
TBF that is way overly simplifying it. "Slug" involves a chase and playing loops because she's not a real stealth killer and getting free hits. When you say it like that it seems disingenuous to how it's actually playing out.
1 -
Elaborate how everyone can do well with someone if they’re such a bad killer?
0 -
"Everyone" is referencing the survivors, not the killer.
0 -
I wasn’t referring to doing well with her as a survivor, obviously.
0 -
The match feels managable if everyone scrambles for a tape at the beginning. But it feels like if you don't get one, then it can be very hard to acquire one later one as she will disable TV's when she starts spamming teleport. So if the survivors spawn close together, things get kind of messy.
0 -
It sounds all fine theoretically "All 4 survivor split up and grab a tape at the start".
But that argument quickly falls apart on so many levels for things that ACTUALLY happen in game:
1: Noone knows the killer on startup, only way to know is to find a gen or run into her
2: Survivors will have to, all 4, seperate at the start of the match once they find out its Sadako and find a TV/Gen
3: Hope that they are not spotted doing this (which will not happen)
4: Hope one of your teammates, unknowingly, doesnt take a tape you are headed to.
5: Hope she doesnt teleport in your face by the time you DO find your own personal TV
No match ever, across my playtime of 1.2k hours, across all youtubes I have watched, across all streams I have watched, across all TOURNAMENT play I have watched. Have 4 players, on match start, immediately split up and get their own personal generator. It's always at least a group of 2.
It's not a realistic expectation for Soloq players for this kind of play. And this is the majority of the player base.
2 -
Nothing you listed is something that happens all the time. Those are just variables. Solo queue always has a bunch of variables that SWF doesn't have to account for. Sadako can be rough in solo queue, but she's no Pinhead. I think she may still need some tweaking, but I think she's not horrendous in most situations.
1 -
Quite the contrary it does. And heres several hours of actual gameplay of what happens rather than all this talk.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1883165875
Even this guy remarks several times that it is unfair how easily he gets through the matches.
The only people to actually win was Hens and his professional, tournament, SWF group. Every single other match was a 3k/4k multi mori match.
All high MMR players.
Also this from the best content creator in this community. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5G0rOFsHiw&t=274s
Even these people, who are better than both of us combined at this game. Say shes busted.
Thank you for your time!

You need to chill out. I agree that she may need some tweaking, I just don't think she's as OP as you think she is.
Maybe next time someone interacts with you in good faith.

I legit couldn't find a TV anywhere and ended up getting mori-d after first chase lmao
It's like tombstone Myers but somehow even more braindead.
