PC - Wouldn't let me pick up survivor that plot twisted

Was playing on midwich as knight and was trying to pick up a survivor who mid chase used plot twist and I couldn't pick him up, the knight did the hand movement to start the pick up but immediately cancelled every time the pick up animation.
