Mouse keeps freezing every few seconds when I open the game

For the past few days, whenever I open up DBD on my PC, I run into this issue. About every 4 to 10 seconds, my mouse will just stop responding. No clicking or movement registers for up to a second, and then I get control back for a short while. It happens in other applications too if I have DBD open, not just within the game. I've tried deleting and reinstalling it, but it didn't fix anything.
Anyone else suffering like this or got some insight into the issue?
