PC - Friends not standing with you in the lobby

Sometimes there is this bug where you or your friend joins the lobby but they are missing even though their screen shows that they are still standing there
This occurs when your friend list shows that they are offline and no matter if they or you join them they will not appear in the game with you if a match is found.
