I propose a slight buff to Pain Resonance
Woah, woah, woah, lower that pitchfork and hear me out, its really not that bad.
Pain Resonance was an instant killer favorite since its inception, because it allowed quick gen regression on the fly, no need to stop and kick a gen, do some good regression while doing your normal objective. It was slightly held in check by virtue of being a scourge hook and thus RNG dependant, but overall it was very strong.
After its last and in the current meta, though, it has become very frustrating. A singular hooking event know gives a massive 25% regression ... but only in theory. In practice it's now very unreliabe, you could hook a survivor, just when a gen pops and thus lose one of your 4 tokens, you could regress a gen with just 5% progress, or you just couldn't catch one of the yet unhooked survivors. In short it's a mess with heaps and heaps of restrictions.
My buff/mini-rework is very simple: Pain Resonance now has 100 charges. Upon hooking a survivor the gen with the most progress regresses of up to 25%, reducing the charges by one per percent regressed. After hooking a survivor, the perk goes into cooldown for 25s.
In essence, I want a bit of a safety net for the perk and giving it some guaranteed value without making it too oppressive and obusing camping/trading. But with the current system it's also heartbreaking when you hook a survivor just a second after a gen pops, and then you waste one token on a 10%< gen.
And it's very hard to go for all four survivors, just because of that one token. Allowing Pain Res to work with any survivor, even multiple times, giving it charges and putting a timer on trades, I think that my version is much more consistent and fair. What do you think!
Happy gaming

Angela, hand over the pitchfork. Ill bring the torches.
No, i thing that would be a good idea to make the perk more consistent while not needlessly buffing it. However, i think pain res is fine right now. No perk should eb a go - to in my opinion. Variety is good and specific perk should be good on specific killers. Like hoarder had a niche on Pinhead. (sadly removed)

Nah I think Pain Res is perfect as is right now.

I don't see why buff one of the best perks in game.
The perk is fair and really strong. I am fine with gen regression being capped at this level of power.

I knew that this would be a tough sell...
Its not that big a buff, but the 4 tokens for four differ survivors is just not a cool design and with current meta you might waste 1 or even 2 hooks, and with such limited resources, that really feels awful.
In the worst possible situation, three gens would pop and you would still love a hook token.

Even if you kept the token system (which I've never been a massive fan of), the charge system would be a really nice QOL change. No perk should be at the mercy of RNG as heavily as Pain Resonance is. Getting good Scourge Hook spawns is one thing, but losing all value for a hook because of something out of your control isn't fantastic perk design.

A simple hook counter per survivor for Killers would already go a long way to buffing hook token based perks.

My only issue with scorge hook placements some games they al get shoved into a corner far awar from anything so you can never get to them

I feel like Pain Res is good as it is. It forces you to make tactical decisions on the fly, on whether you get a down too early, or too soon after gens popping, where you think you won't get value from it.

I think the effort needed to make this isn't worth the effect people would stand to gain. I can easily know that my Lethal Pursuer afk down should be plopped on a normal hook instead of a Scourge Hook.
