State of the game and interactions between Killer and Survivor.

Hello Devs,

If you take the time to read this, you have my utmost gratitude for perusing.

This post is about the state of the game and the way it currently is playing out after a lot of the changes in the past couple of years. I don't have much in the way of suggestions as how to fix the problems I am seeing, however, I do intend to put a bright light on them and hopefully a solution can come from you folks at BHVR.

Right now in a lot of my games I barely have any interaction with survivors anymore, this I know is due to a lot of factors. One of the factors is the HUD update. This was a good change on the survivor side to help solo players and/or players who cannot communicate by voice. The main issue I think this brings about though is survivors can take that information and play around the killer and as a result generators get done faster and the killer as a result gets very little interaction because they don't have to move off their task unless things go from bad to worse during a match. This annoys me not because I "lost" the match, it only annoys me because barely anything occurred before End Game Collapse(EGC) comes about and the survivors open the gates and leave.

I have tried various things to bring the interaction back, however, the results come back to being the same, the HUD lets them ignore most things that used to be a mystery and just clear out swiftly. Again, I don't know as a suggestion how to resolve this, yet, it is glaring because the Killer is becoming more of an observer and less of a player in these situations during matches.

The other issue is generators. We have seen a large portion of the perks that affected generator progression be re-balanced over the months. I play both sides of the game, killer more so than survivor these days so I will admit of bias. At the same time though as per my previous paragraphs, a lot of these perks have been changed so much that it doesn't give a lot of time to the killer to have interactions. I do not come here to suggest these be changed again and put us in a loop of bringing some perk back to its former glory.

What I would instead like to see are perks that helps in keeping the game going and at the same time hindering survivors from just going full NASCAR and clearing out the generators. A lot of the perks that exist now require a survivor be downed or hooked in order to get the reward of greatly damaging the generator. While this makes sense for the killer, there are moments where the generator is near completion and most of the survivors are still alive and you cannot hinder them since putting focus on one just leaves room for the others to finish the generator.

I merely want to have a way to buy time in situations that would otherwise be a done deal because there are more survivors alive than dead. Survivors can block a generator with Repressed Alliance and all of the perks that get around the blockage require you down and/or hook a survivor such as Pain Resonance or Jolt. Those perks, while powerful, are limited in scope when multiple survivors are trying to get that last bit of progress done. Bringing in perks that help in the EGC do not work for all killers either, mainly ones that have to travel by foot which is most of the roster.

We have perks like corrupt intervention for the early game, however, we are left with whatever other perks we bring when its done. Dead Man's Switch? That perk doesn't force a survivor off the generator unless you use Pain Resonance or get close enough that they move off of it, or make them scream which again, most of the roster cannot do efficiently if the generator is far away and the HUD lets them know where you are now so what me worry? Deadlock can be effective at times to slow down these speed demons, yet in some of my games 2-3 generators are finished within a minute or two of a match starting and Deadlock just ends up blocking an untouched generator or a barely repaired one. My simple suggestion here is just give us more tools to keep the generators in check a bit more without sacrificing the back and forth of killer and survivor.

This here ends my post and thanks again for reading!!!

A hand clasp from across the miles,
