[PC/Steam] Appearing as "Crossplay player" to friend on the same platform

edited August 2023 in Bug Reporting

It has happened a few times now that I was shown with a globe next to my name to a friend who is on the same platform as me while another friend (who is playing on the Switch) had no globe next to my name on her end.

This caused me to be unable to invite friends or friends joining my group (they get an "unexpected error"). When I join a friend I cannot connect to a server once we find a match and my friend is alone in the lobby.

When does this happen?

So far it happened when I started the game or after a restart when the game crashed (report sent) before.

This bug does not seem to be consistent.

How to fix?

Restart the game and hope for the best.
