Ripley's perks don't justify buying the chapter, very sad they weren't buffed
Honestly I'm so disappointed BHVR didn't buff / rework Lucky Star.
Lucky Star is a terrible perk design wise, it's supposed to help you stealth into a locker mid-chase, but you still make a loud noise notification if you enter the locker quickly, and your blood trail and scratch marks will still lead the killer right to you. So what's the point? We should also bring Lucky Break and Quick & Quiet ? 3 perks for 10 seconds of no grunts of pain, how useful.
The only thing I like about this perk is the info part, because I think adding info that's only useful to solo survivors on top of an other effect, although awkward, is a good idea considering wasting perk slots for info swf have for free is annoying. However, Lucky Star's primary effects are so bad it's not even worth bringing over a perk that only gives info for solo players.
The fact that the only balances changes are killer buffs / turrets nerf tells me BHVR saw the overall consensus was positive but people were complaining about turrets, so they fixed those but didn't bother listening to the feedback on anything alse.
Lightfooted should also have received a buff, a 20 second cooldown for a perk that requires you to be healthy and only gives value if the killer doesn't have you in LoS is too much.
Anyways, I love Ripley and I like the concept of her perks (I was absolutely ready to become a Lightfooted main) but they've all been executed pretty badly and I don't want to waste money on perks I won't use, so this chapter will be a skip for me. I'll just enjoy the new map and hope BHVR will give some auric cells in a prime reward or something so I can get Xenomorph.
Also it's kinda sad that I genuinely believe there's more chance we get free auric cells than there are chances of BHVR buffing Lucky Star and Lightfooted. Like... I'm not saying BHVR is absolutely fine with adding useless perks to the roster if people aren't crying about it, but they certainly don't seem to do anything about them, ever. But who knows, maybe they'll get the Calm Spirit and Pharmacy treatment...

Well obviously I don't know what the devs had in mind, I assumed the aura effect was secondary to the rest (similar to Grabiel's perk), which would be good for solo q. However, if the aura is the primary effect, then it's not that the concept was poorly executed but that the concept itself is quite disappointing. As a solo player I'm tired of having to waste a perk slot only to know where my teammates are, and there's already enough aura reading perks that I can't imagine using one that requires me to enter and exit a locker everytime I want value, it sounds very tedious and definitely not the best option unless you're already running a full locker build.
And yeah, agreed about Lucky Star, that's exactly what I think.

Hopefully because Maria is also missing her nails it's a bug and they'll add them (or it's not a bug and they add them anyway lol). But yeah it sucks, I was excited to bring Lightfooted to my fixated + lightweight build but the perk itself is too restricted and the other ones don't justify buying her either

How do you even sell your dlc with perks like that ? We have 100+ useless/niche perks on survivor side already why would I buy this

Lucky Star definitely needed a buff.
So did Rapid Brutality... which was nerfed from 10s to 9s...
Sad to see none of Xeno's add ons got buffed though.

Exaclty :(, if they were niche but still good at what they do I wouldn't mind, but they're niche and bad...
I hadn't noticed Rapid Brutality was nerfed, that sounds unecessary... and yes Xeno's add-ons are pretty sad overall

They nerfed it? It still says 8/9/10 in the patch notes.

The thing with Lucky Star is, it hides your blood for 10 seconds...when your blood is already hidden anyway because you got in the locker. So that part only matters if you get out within 10 seconds and even then you still have scratch marks. If it caused blood at the locker entrance that was formed right before you went into the locker (and maybe a little before too) to be removed quickly upon entering the locker it would be better. Even then it's still a very weird perk.

Yeah. Perks should be free from the beggining. Buying chapters should be for unique characters. Otherwise its definition of p2w

i am reading patch notes. rapid brutality in patch notes still reads
- "Rapid Brutality
- You can no longer gain Bloodlust. Hitting a Survivor with a basic attack gives you 5% haste for 8/9/10 seconds.
it is unchanged. I do not see anywhere 10->9. maybe you got confused by tiers.

Yeah I'm thinking I thought I was looking at 3 but only had 2 now as well. Either way I haven't touched it since I saw it wasn't buffed. Losing bloodlust entirely just isn't worth it for a non mobility killer.
Honestly none of the six perks seem at all useful to me, and I'm disappointed that Xeno feels clunkier to use that I expected it would, and with no decent add ons at all. I mean, One add on to give Tail attacks Haemorrhage, and one to give Mangled... when there's a whole mechanic to remove the killers power built in, I don't understand why Tail Attacks have such little impact.
Only add ons I've been running are the one that reveals Turrets and the one that reduces their range, and even then, I'm still struggling to hit them, they seem more slippering than Dredge's locks, every time I attack one I slide right past it and it knocks me out of Crawler.
I still love the tunnels and the dip into Crawler mode, I just feel everything accessory to that is just... meh.

well I feel sorry that your struggling to utilize his power. i only played 2 games of xeno. he is very intuitive for me to play because of nemesis. I do agree that his add-on do not carry him to victory or provide game-changing effects akin to blight. So he might not be an easy pick-up. maybe some of his add-on could get buffed if he under-performs. maybe they'll buff parker band add-on or iri add-on's. I don't know.

I mean, the same could be said about Xeno. None of the 6 new perks are strong (expect the footsteps one against Spirit).

I think the one that makes survivors scream within your TR is good, but yeah I doubt there'll be any change to popular perks with this chapter. However, I personnally buy killers for their power more than their perks, so if I enjoy playing a killer I don't really mind that their perks are meh, but if a survivor's perks are bad it just feels like buying an overpriced cosmetic, which to me isn't worth it unless I really like the franchise and have some money to spare.
As things are I won't consider buying the chapter until there's sale and it's at like 60% of the price tbh
