Game perma-crashes

I was playing my first ever game and in the middle of it the game crashes. Unlucky.

So I go to open the game again and proceed to get 5 crashes in a row, meaning the game is literally unplayable for me.

Tried repairing game files on steam, says everything's okay, so I have no idea what to do.

    The crashes were during the startup loading screen, so I don't even get to the game menu
